Official Gingerbread Update - bugs

What you are seeing is the new FASTBOOT process.

I believe you can turn it off at SETTINGS>APPLICATIONS>FASTBOOT.

Try that and see if that solves your problem.

Will leaving the FASTBOOT in place cause problems? Is it OK to turn it off in order to bump charge? Anyone else do bump charging?

I don't know if it's real or myth, but I've always heard that bump charging wears out the battery.

Well that's no good! I hadn't heard that... What is the solution to have a decent battery life then?

Reduce interval that programs check for new data (social apps, news widgets, etc.), don't use too many widgets, use wi-fi when available. Those will help.

Clear out caches. Resolved some of my issues. Still have problem with apps on SD not showing up.

I received the OTA today and now my speaker no longer works. I know it was working just prior to applying the OTA because I was using to watch a youtube video.

I've tried shutting rebooting a couple of time and turning the volume all the way off and then back on.

Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix?

Wow. I hope you reported this one to Verizon. :(

Anyone else had problems with their Bluetooth? Before the update my Bluetooth in my car worked perfectly, now when someone calls me they don't come through my speakers anymore.

No mine works the same. Try deleting it and repairing

Since VZW can't even fix the build.prop file even though it's been reported for months, I don't have much confidence in them fixing my issue. Thankfully after plugging and unplgging the headphones a couple of times the speaker came back.

The current issues I am seeing are
1) Sense UI crashes/restarts about 4 times a day. It wouldn't be so bad but it take 45 seconds or so to load each time which is really annoying when you are trying to get to something quickly.

2) auto synching doesn't seem to work. All my email apps (k9, gmail ) need the "check mail" button pressed to get mail.

3) the music widget shows the wrong thumbnail for the song that is playing.

My Bluetooth is working as good or better. Same with the browser.

I got the update wednesday or thursday morning around 3 am. I updated and immediately got the "low on disc space" msg. I was also having an SD card problem (media wasn't showing up anymore) so I took the phone to Verizon this past Saturday. They had to do a factory reboot + I got a new 2 GB memory card. After the reboot, the phone came back with the updated 2.3.4 installed and I haven't had problems since. :p

I got the update on Friday morning, it made me wish I never installed it. Just about all of my apps didn't work anymore that was on the memory card even after taking out the card and mounting it back in. I did a factory reset and started fresh over with everything, the Market still has the "sprint" bug in it, and going into the "hardware information" it now says 0003 instead of 0002 for being an amoled screen, which I have. I think when they did this update they "verizon or htc" forgot that there are still amoled screen versions of the phone. Now when I use the camera i see alot of noise and the picture doesn't come out as good before I did any updating. I wish I can find a way to undo this, this gingerbread update was only "half baked" and they shouldn't released it, I would of gladly waited another month or two for a gingerbread update that worked perfectly.

I had to pair it again with my car. One thing that happens now is that at some point during a call I hear two beeps and 10 seconds later my bluetooth connection drops and the call goes back to the phone. It's a reall pain. Also, the voice recognition for dialing is much worse. It used to be pretty accurate when I said a name, now it gets it wrong most of the time.
