Official gingerbread waiting/updating thread

From HTC tech support:
The OTA update goes out in order of serial numbers, and they are unable to push the update out manually. The software just cycles through serial numbers until it hits your phone's number.

Installed yesterday. It was OTA and a piece of cake. 45 minutes from start to finish.

Ok, got the update. Took about 15 minutes from start to finish. Smooth so far! I'm on Long Island, NY.

Sent from my Inspire using Tapatalk

Finally got it at 7 am this morning. 106 mb. Took about 15 minutes. Phone rebooted at least three times. Now I just need to figure out which changes are from sense 2.1 and which are from the new os.

Almost forgot, Gainesville, FL.

I got the update on one of my in-laws phones last night, and my phone this morning.

Strange thing was the phone last night is only a month old, and I've had mine since April. Phone from last night's normal service area is Spokane, WA, but it's here in Pensacola, FL with me right now.

finally got mine late yesterday.

*edit* - im in hampton roads VA

If they are indeed rotating thru phone serial numbers for access to the update thru OTA, then i would think that location(spokane or pensacola) wouldnt have anything to do with it.
But . . .. it is ATT and we all know that while Apple may have coined the "think different" phrase for their marketing, well, we know that ATT actual DOES think different . . . . . . than most of us normal people.

Yea, my mention of the normal service area of the phones was my way of saying I don't think location has anything to do with it. Just not a very good one :).

I was more confused by the newer (purchase date at least) phone getting the update before the older. I'll have to take a look at the serial numbers to see if I can make any sense of it, but I'm at work right now.

Yes, if you just got an inspire just get the RUU.

Thanks, the RUU installed without any issues.
