On Canadian Telus network, if I don't use the phone for a long time (like 6 hours on last Saturday), it loses connection to the network and I have to reboot to get the connection back. I have no idea why, but I don't think it is an OS issue.

I don't have that issue with Bell either, and there are now 2 GS3's in the house. Must be a Telus issue.

I have to say, my wife doesn't really care about Jelly Bean (she just wants her phone to work well) but I do. Seeing how long it's taking for Samsung to push out this update to the S3 is really turning me off from Samsung products. I'm in the market for an Android phone in the coming year and I'll be using this example in my decision process. Should I get Samsung and wait months and months after an OS update has been released before I get it on my phone? I think not.

i agree it takes too long but youd really need an unbranded Nexus to get (official) updates straight away.
as far as i know, the Htc One X hasnt got JB yet?

Good old Samsung keeps pushing that date back. From their conference when they said it'll be available "very soon", it's now stretching to November for North America. Good work.

August 30th : "very soon".

Now, "expected in November", still don't give an actual date.

Let's just put it this way. Samsung had the 4.1.1 update done months ago (or at least a month) The obstacles that are holding back our updates so long is now the carriers or Google.

I'm tired of seeing people complain about the manufacturers when the major problem relies on the carrier's and the verification process of Android. All android phones will take this long or even longer unless it's a Nexus device running stock Android.

The UK devices should be getting JB within a week or so. All of the U.S. carriers say "Expected in November" now. -_____-

aparently poland was a testing ground for JB on the gt-i9300 so maybe theyve had problems there?
suppose it means we'l hopefuly get it with all the bugs ironed out..

lmao my s3 was a surprise present from my fiance "because i know you love android and i heard its the best one out" but she (we) are still paying for it lol, she bought it from f#*n Brighthouse!!
at the time id have been well happy with an s2 or gnex lol. took me a week to even touch the s3 coz i wanted to return it but once i saw that screen.......
