[OFFICIAL] GS3 JellyBean Speculation

Well...the "in the coming months" part of this is a bit of a downer. Samsung commits to rolling out Jelly Bean to US-based Galaxy S III devices in the 'coming months' -- Engadget

Not to mention the fact that the changelog indicates a number of features we got in the last ATT OTA. And no mention of any of the exciting new touchwiz features like smart rotation or the dual-apps thing.

Gotta love their vague terminology. No actual date, the coming months could be 12 months from now LOL. Remember back in August they said jelly bean was coming "very soon". It's ready for some models, how difficult could it be to get the North American build in the hands of the carriers?

I doubt I'll buy a Samsung phone in the future based on what I've seen from them. Anxious to see how Motorola will roll out updates for their new Razr HD line.

yeah google say moto will be run as a separate entity but id bet they have much better integration than any non-nexus oem and will get future updates FAST

I won''t be surprised if it still comes in November...not all Carriers will release the same time but some will definitely be much earlier than others

Motorola has also gone on record recently saying they want to keep android as close to stock as possible and they realize customers want to be on the latest version of the OS. Sounds promising, lets see if they can execute better than Sammy.

This is my first post here. I spoke with Verizon on two occasions regarding Jelly Bean for the Galaxy SIII. On the 2nd call I spoke with a Level II Technician. He looked all through their info on it. They do not have it right now, he stated that once it is ready to roll out, Galaxy SIII people will receive a message that it is available and ready to update to.

The sad part is that the people who got it first-Galaxy Nexus users have encountered a not too nice thing...seems Jelly Bean is rendering their WiFi connections useless. He stated that until they can get that problem cleared up, they won't release it to the Galaxy SIII users.

I know...we have to wait longer...BUT look on the bright side...the Nexus users are the "experiment" and when we get it...the bugs will be worked out! So maybe the info when you Google it is correct, we may not see it until the first part of 2013? Hope sooner.

so WHY or HOW have Three network in UK released JB but the unlocked s3 still hasnt got it??? doesnt make sense man

That's exactly my thoughts as well. I have the unlocked version and I have a 3 sim bought separetely but i guess that doesn't qualify. UK unlocked should have been Poland dates

That's exactly my thoughts as well. I have the unlocked version and I have a 3 sim bought separetely but i guess that doesn't qualify. UK unlocked should have been Poland dates

i just read on another site that they stuck a 3 sim in their phone and got the update.. my phone was bought sim-free but i use a 3 sim and when i check for OTA i dont even get the "try later" message, just the "no update available"... its strange

that would defeat the purpose coz then id have to root to get rid of their crap and then i might as well have put a leak or custom rom on ages ago lol

Sometimes, it takes time to get the update because Samsung and your service provider don't want to overload the servers by allowing all the customers to download at once. Hope you get it soon. I am in Canada and no news from any of the service providers yet.

yeah but im on a non-carrier branded s3 so it should be samsung who send me the update mate.. its just strange how a UK carrier can push JB before samsung even push it to the unlocked phones
