I ordered one. I have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 but I find it too big to carry around.
I was going to buy a nook color. Then I started hearing the amazon tablet rumors.
1. I wanted an e-reader that streams video.
2. I also wanted app and web browsing.
Looks like Kindle Fire is perfect.
If I like it I will buy my kids one for Christmas.
Same price as ipod touch.

I already ordered one. I figure I have 6 weeks to read about it and really make my decision, but this way I'm in line early if I decide to go through with it.
Not sure if it's true or not, but I found this in an article on Bloomberg.com:
"Kindle Fire owners will have access to apps from Pandora Media Inc., Twitter, Facebook, and Netflix Inc. (NFLX) Although other competitors like Barnes & Noble Inc. (BKS) can submit their apps, it will be much easier for Kindle Fire owners to find Amazon?s own content. That?s one reason Amazon is in the best position to turn the tablet battle into a two combatant war. "

Amazon is actually paying more than the asking price to manufacture the Fire. For $199 it seems like a steal

I don't believe that that infomation is accurate. As it is it would cost Amazon more that 200 dollars to make a single Kindle Fire. But when buying the parts wholesale it's a lot cheaper.
