Hi all.

I received my official note 8 clear view cover today but I have a few issues which I'd like to ask you about.

Firstly and most importantly about the AOD clock. I use the circular analogue clock. However, when the cover is closed it seems to force the phone to use the standard default clock, the one with the hour on top and minutes below. I don't know about any of you but I hate that clock layout. I much prefer the circular analogue clock. Does anyone know how to make the analogue clock show when the cover is closed?

My other issue is that I was told by Samsung that the case closes magnetically but there doesnt appear to be a magnet to hold the case closed. There are magnets but they only hold the back of the cover in place for the stand feature. So the front cover of my case keeps opening very easily. If I dropped my phone.... by the time it hits the floor the case could have opened and the screen would have no protection. Is my case faulty? Do your clearview cases close magnetically?

Any comments would be most welcome.

Thanks. :)

Usually it is just a weak magnet that is just there so it knows the case is closed so it turns on the display. And the display is usually separate from the AOD, it use to be a separate app unless they changed it. Magnets and touch screens usually do not work together will so that is why it is weak. They usually create dead spots on the touch screen.

There's a review of it in another thread and magnets seemed quite obvious.
On my N4 you had to switch it on in settings after putting it on, wouldn't allow change of setting unless the cover was on

Thank you both for your input. I think I'm going to send it back for a refund because (a) theres a good chance that the flip cover will open and not protect the screen if I drop it. And (b) I cannot see any options to change from the default AOD to the one I prefer which is either the analouge clock or the one you can use a picture with. It's a shame because otherwise it's a very nice case. Build quality is excellent.

My Clear View cover has a weak magnet which switches on the display when opened, but doesn't keep it closed. The stronger magnet in the rear keeps that closed, but interferes with writing on the screen (not a great problem). More worrying is the strength of the front screen. The corner broke off when the phone fell from the car seat onto the car carpet - about 15 inches! Also, due to the stiffness of the 'spine' the cover screen tends to pull across, turning on the phone screen eveb when laid flat. Not cheap either! I'll probably change it.

It's disappointing. Not enough product testing done I think.
