Alright, my chick has a DX with the Froyo version that came with the phone which I un-rooted (since it was running rooted) with Z4 and even uninstalled Z4 and turned debugging mode off then went into the system updates section and it detected it and downloaded and restarted itself went to the little Droid guy and showed the status bar get to about 25% then the open box icon with the arrow turned into a triangle with !

I've gone through this 4 times and the install has failed each time... any help or ideas?

I had the same problems with the soak test... I started a thread here. I also had the z4root. Nothing I did would fix it. I unrooted, uninstalled to list a few. I had to flash back to a stock 2.2 sbf. You should find all the links and info there to flash back and then install the 2.3 update manually. Hope this helps!

Aww crap, my chicks gonna kick my ass she'll have to start over with all her angry birds and little widget setups lol

Did you rename any of the bloatware files? They must be there with the same names. The update will try to overwrite them.
