Official Signal Strength and Reception Thread

Re: this is weird...still have bad signal with repeater

I bought a Verizon Network Extender and am very happy. My Galaxy Nexus was getting 1-2 bars and -100dbm or so signals and with the extender I get 5 bars and -75 dbm.

Are you sure your phone is connected to the Network Extender? You're supposed to be able to dial a number from your phone to verify the connection. Your Galaxy Nexus status should be: mobile network type should be EvDo-rev. A:8.

Re: this is weird...still have bad signal with repeater

Yes it does. Those people running the leaked radios report the better performance.

This has been acknowledged by both VZW and Google.

It is amazing how people will deny things so obviously true just to defend their purchase. Ridiculous. This is a purchase you made, it is not your mother. No need to defend it to the point of ridiculousness.

I have no need to defend my purchase...I have never dropped signal with my phone....not one signal problem....if Verizon and Google acknowledged it I have never heard of it....and sure havent experienced it. If some new radio delivers me better performance my phone may just well explode due to its shear awesomeness. Thats not irrational exuberance or even fanboy bs.....its just fact. Those who have signal problems may be a majority of posters but they are a minority of actual Gnex owners.

Re: this is weird...still have bad signal with repeater

I'd be curious to read both the Google and VZW statements regarding the radio problem. So you any links to them?
LOL, yeah right, that is what they do issue STATEMENTS regarding known issues with one if it 30+ phones, ROFLMAO. Common sense, dude, common sense.

VZW confirmed to me as well as to others (Feel free to search the boards) that there are known issues. Google is issuing updates to correct the known issues confirmed on this board and others (Again, feel free to search the boards). Nuff said.

Re: this is weird...still have bad signal with repeater

GNex Girl, and you're asserting that what you are saying are FACTS. Which means your word and other people's words about what some random vzw employee told you/them mean absolutely nothing. Show some FACTS if what you are saying is really true.. Nuff said

Re: this is weird...still have bad signal with repeater

Yes it does and it has been acknowledged by VZW as well as Google, which has addressed the problems with the radio in both the leaked 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 updates.

No, it doesn't. VZW has never acknowledged a radio issue, and neither has Google.

Reps don't know jack ****. They will tell you anything they need to to shut you up and get you off the line or out of the store.

Show us a statement from Verizon or Google. Otherwise, just stop.

Re: Erratic 4G signal..

I just switched from the Tbolt to the Nexus and I experienced the same thing as you. Tbolt, in it's current version, vs the Nexus, in it's current version is far superior in reception and speed. Unless I got a defective one, which I'm currently investigating.

In other you do not have any evidence to support your claim that VZW and Google have admitted to there being radio problems. If they have made such admissions you shouldn't have any providing support for the claim.

So you would like people to accept this type of statement based off of 2nd and 3rd hand accounts?

Actually YES they do ,I have seen bugs reported and confirmed by the phone maker of their device .I had a a device couple years ago they were bugs reported on their "Official User and Owner Forum", and probably still are, not all known bugs affect that device I used to have .I still have that device by the way its just retired now I fixed all the issues I was having on that device after I researched on my own and also got tips from other users.

Its not difficult to post the Official Reports(links) you claim can to have viewed or been confirmed to you from those User forums or got from Official sources .So why not post those links ?
If I was having issues with my current phone as you are I would ,,,actually I have posted links from those Official User Owners Forums in the past mentioning known and confirmed bugs .

PS: you own 30+ phones ??? :p

Um, sorry, dude, they don't post official announcement every time a bug is found. They'd have quite a long list, lol!

Common sense people, common sense.

You keep saying that like you have some but have yet to post any valid argument on any thread... If you are trying to argue anything you have to provide proof for your argument to be valid. Common sense dude, common sense.

Re: Galaxy Nexus vs. My Xoom (Signal, 4G LTE, and 3G

sorry to hear that you're having problems. I've had exactly the opposite issues, my Xoom will hold onto a 4G connection when my GNex won't. I hope that getting a new SIM card fixes your problems!

I can't help but think of the old Saturday Night Live moniker of "not ready for prime time". That is how it feels with the Android tablets.
That's how it feels to me using my GNex. In fact, I used that exact expression - not ready for prime time - to a friend of mine the other day when discussing my GNex.

But, the question becomes what are you going to do about it? I already made up my mind as to what I'm going to be doing if this doesn't solve the problem.

Nope your wrong ,I seen the list on the owners forum I was refering to and I see you still havent posted the Official links so you must be wrong there to .Its funny how you avoid things like that , oh common sense back at ya LOL.
You have yet to provide proof to any of your comments to have received Official info from Google or VZW.

Re: this is weird...still have bad signal with repeater

The only proof we has is incidental, and that being different radios for 4.0.4 (I have no idea what radios were used for 4.0.3, but I know my ROM used 4.0.3 yet had 4.0.2 radios, so take that as it is).

That's it, though.

You must remember that logical discourse exists not on the internet but in the myths of crazy Greek dudes and the occasional high school debate squad.

Re: this is weird...still have bad signal with repeater

Haha true, it's overwhelmingly evident between this and the other thread.
