Officially Overclocked

Also: Battery Life isn't looking too good with Drod's 1.5ghz kernel...

Down to 81% after 65 minutes of use on 3G:

35-40 texts, one phone call, and moderate data if you count the apps I've downloaded and browsing as one category. This, for me, is about a 300% drop in battery performance.

Now that number is skewed obviously, since I've barely taken time and tested it, but I NEVER saw my battery drop 20% even close to that fast before..

Edit: Just installed CPU tuner and gonna see if it makes any difference throughout the rest of the day. I'll update with how it went later tonight.
Have you set your profiles in SetCPU? If not, that will make a HUGE difference. I have it set to the minimum clock speed when my screen is off and I am getting pretty decent battery life out of it, better than before atleast. I am also running VirusROM, which has improved my battery life.

I'm trying out the 1.5ghz kernel with some profiles I snagged from some people over at xda to see how it goes. This thing is a beast now and with scores like this, it's hard to want to turn back, but we'll see...

Day 2 on this kernel and I was experiencing lag in switching homescreens and panning up and down through the app drawer. Then I got a call and went I went to answer to phone rebooted...happened twice so Im back to stock. Mustve been why its pulled.

Edit: Just reinstalled and running next step down from 1.5gz...we'll see how it goes

Even so, you're still using a Blackberry. Have fun with 2008 technology.
But you're trolling, so go away.

Trolling? are you kidding me? I have a freakin Droid, and I'm trying to learn about it. When did that become trolling? I mod two forums dude. I know trolling.

Ive had the Storm 1 and the Storm 2 and I had nothing but trouble with both phones and they couldn't handle no more than like five apps before they started to freak and become all slow. So my switch to Android was well worth it. Now I can actually use the phone like a smartphone. If Blackberry doesn't step on it they will be left behind in this smartphone world. Ill take a rooted, custom ROM and Overclocked Android over a Crapberry any day.

My Storm 1 ran quite well, but I did several things to get it there, and it performed very well for two years.

I think its funny when people validate how good their stuff is by bashing the other products. I'd rather have a product that's better than a great product, because then I have something real nice. Crapberry... That's a new one..

Yes, Blackberry is behind the times, hence my Droid ownership, but they won't be in 2012. When my Droid will go in the trash if there are not some serious improvements to the functionality of my device

you will see how much more freedom and how much better things work compared to your previous blackberry in due time i suspect, and i also didn't think you were trolling just asking questions and trying to make comparison's to your more familiar blackberry, word of advice though i wouldn't keep calling every android phone a "Droid" people will most likely give you a hard time over it here as the only "Droids" are phones Verizon decides to call that like the original Droid, Droid 2, Droid X, Droid Incredible etc etc.

also i try to explain to people that a Rooted phone is similar to having administrator rights on a PC and Carriers like to try to keep you from that so you can't do things they don't want you too like tether for free without paying for there Tether service and remove apps they wanna try to shove down your throat, and replace the stock OS with Custom OS builds

I'm three days into my my Thunderbolt. You are correct, I am very familiar with Blackberry, and the Android OS is very foreign to me at this point. Aside from that there are also other points that frustrate me, (so did my Storm, which was my fifth Blackberry). But I'll stop there for now, because I'll hijack the thread..........

Back to the overclocking, CPU frying, face melting discussion

bloatware being the apps that I don't use, want, and can't uninstall I take it?

a rooted Droid sounds like every blackberry, I can do all that with any blackberry.
No its VZW crap that they force you to keep, its locked in.
Rooting is like jailbreaking a yPhone. Except Eric Schmidt doesn't want us throne in jail for it.

I have a freakin Droid,
I agree with blizz419, Lol thats a sensitve subject, in the android community, thats kinda like calling every computer a Dell.

Anyways welcome to the forums, not everone is so rude here take it with a grain of salt, if your a Mod you understand. Also our Mods here are great, if ya need em let em know.

I just did the root and debloat as presented in the stickied threads here (thanks all). Is there a dummy's guy for CPU management? This sounds like I have to flash a custom ROM and do some serious hacking...
