Oh boy, release pushed to December :/

Re: Oh boy :/

adfalkjdlgkdjlagjlagj; California needs to hurry up and become neighbors with Hawaii.

Re: Oh boy :/

I have been following this mess since April when there was a report that the GS2 could reach the US by May! That fiasco dragged on until August and then Verizon passed to sell the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

I figured I could wait until October. Then October passed. I figured I could make it to early November. Early November passed. Now it's mid-November and this is still dragging on. It's unbelievable. The phone I wanted (GS2) is now available pretty much everywhere in the world except Verizon. The LTE version of the GS2 has even arrived on AT&T.

I'm sure if Google/Samsung had it to do all over again they would have avoided Big Red. It's not worth it.

Re: Oh boy :/

FWIW: I'm hearing last week of November, which would be on schedule, or the first week of December, which would be a week late.

Regardless, do you want this thing early? Or do you want it to work when you get it? (Loaded question, I know, and I'm sure we'll still see bugs at some point, right?)

Regardless, everybody chill a bit.

Now excuse me while I go contemplate importing a GSM version. :-/

I highly doubt that. Whether people like it or not, Verizon has the largest number of subscribers, and any phone manufacturer would be crazy to ignore them. Apple caught lightning in a bottle, but that won't happen again, at least not for a long, long time.

when you say last week of november do you mean the week of the 28th? and the first week of december being the week of the 5th?

Re: Oh boy :/

Look- that's still an aggravatingly long time. The device was unveiled a MONTH ago!

If I don't get something concrete within a week, I'm getting an iPhone. At least they are prompt and don't let carriers shaft their customers.

I agree and disagree. :) Yes, Verizon has the largest number of subscribers, and yes any phone manufacturer would be crazy to ignore them. That being said, we are not talking about just any old phone here, we're talking about Google's flagship phone - The Nexus. I would venture to say that any phone manufacturer would be crazy to ignore the fact that the US Market has a sizable amount of people who prefer a GSM phone (AT&T and T-Mobile) and Google and Samsung would be out of their minds to not release a GSM Nexus in the US market. Granted, those of us who want no part of a CDMA phone, like Verizon and Sprint sell can import an International version of the Galaxy Nexus, but giving Verizon anything other than a "temporary exclusive" on the Nexus makes no sense from a business sense. Regardless of the difficulties Verizon is experiencing right now, I fully expect to see an AT&T version of the Galaxy Nexus in January or February - the GSM phone was what was demonstrated at the unveiling in Hong Kong, BTW.

I agree with you. I was taking the previous post to mean ignoring VZW altogether. I can definitely see not giving them any kind of exclusive, but I don't think Google or anyone else can get away with not having their premier phones on VZW. Just like they can't ignore AT&T either. Those two are the big fish and have the vast majority of mobile subscribers.

Re: Oh boy :/

What would liberals want with the Galaxy Nexus?

I see where you are coming from. but not all of us from Cali are Dems. Im Republican and at one time had an iPhone. hahaha.

Anyways.... Dont believe p3droid. He's always WRONG! (oh and im not hating)

::Jumping up & down, waiving my hand in the air:: I'm a Liberal Democrat, and I most *definitely* want a Galaxy Nexus as my next phone - but I refuse to use a CDMA device like Verizon sells. I'm waiting for the GSM version, an AT&T release. Then, we can all - Liberal/Conservative, GSM/CDMA - enjoy this exceptional phone. :) :)

I agree. The only reason I'm with Verizon is because of the discounts through my job. I actually like T-mobile better and, wish At&t wasn't trying to buy them. I'm tempted to import the GSM version also. I've been patient but, never thought things would go this way.

This is all very frustrating. :(

Hahaha that's what I've been thinking the whole time I've been reading these forums. We all must have pretty good lives if a phone can make us worry this much. Just sayin...

I always get a good laugh reading peoples cliff jumping responses when something is delayed a few weeks longer. You would think that their spouse just told them that they were leaving them for someone of the same sex by their overreaction.
