OK GOOGLE does not always work on this watch.

I just saw that setting today and switched to high accuracy. Have you tracked any walks/runs to see if it makes a difference? Or do you think the speed of obtaining the signal is the only difference and once obtained the accuracy is about the same?
It should not have any impact on accuracy as long as GPS is used. The only difference is how can it speed up the initial satellite lock. Ideally, it should be within 10 seconds (just like on the phone) but I'm not seeing that yet.

EDIT: re-read the descriptions on those options, High Accuracy means the watch can use GPS or wifi, BT or cell network triangulation if GPS is not available. It has nothing to do with speed up the initial acquisition. Device only means use GPS only, won't rely on other location services.

Ok. I was just curious for GPS tracking. I track runs a few times a week and was wondering if it made a difference. Lately my tracking has actually been more accurate since wearing a sweat band under the watch. Of course that's a different issue than these settings. I was having times when tracking would skip or stop using ghostracer and it usually occurred well into the run. With the sweat band, no issues so far.

I tested it and it didn't get any assist. What it really means is that in case you have no GPS signal, it can fall back to those network location services to get location data. However, in my test with GMaps, it still waits for the GPS forever. What I wish for is the assisted GPS part but it is not there. I guess Google took that part of OS code out. Worse, if I choose Battery saving mode (no GPS), GMaps will keep asking you to turn on the location. So I guess GMap is hard coded to use GPS regardless the settings.

Just curious, do the developer options usually disappear after a restart? Didn't unpair, just restarted.

Got it. Thanks. I noticed they were gone and my location was still set to high accuracy. I tracked a run today for an hour/6.7 miles and the GPS was perfect. Can't say the setting change was the reason, but I'll leave it that way for now. The battery drain wasn't any worse. 25% drop with bluetotth music, GPS, cellular on paired to phone.
