Ok google not longer working from any screen...

Sorry for the really obvious question, but the "From Any Screen" switch is still turned on in the Google Now settings, right?

You have to turn it from setting to get ok google on any screen.

That setting was on, but ty for helping me troubleshoot. I uninstalled to factory, then updated again, seems to have fixed it for now.

when you say uninstall to factory do you mean you factory reset your phone?

No I uninstalled the updates for Google app, and ran the one that came on the phone by default.
