Hi,

I'm not sure what happened, but when I say "Ok Google" from the home screen...nothing happens. If i click on Google Now and click the voice option, it can hear me just fine... but for some reason I can't bring up Google Now from the home screen. (also under the settings for Google Now i do have the "Hotword Detection" turned on).

Thanks for your help...anything is appreciated :)

UPDATE: restarting the phone got it to work (the microphone icon next to the search bar becomes full when "Ok google" is working). Weird.

Hello,
I two encountered this. Also restarted and solved the problem, but there it was again one minute later.

What I did was close all the recent applications and it worked again. I am guessing that one of the applications that I used must have interfered with with Google now and so, the always listening feature was stopped. I don't think this is a bug because, as you pointed out the microphone icon is hallow when disabled and this must be a planned feature, a "warning" of you will.

Do you by any chance have Chrome beta?

Seen on Android Police that the latest beta update causes the "Okay Google" function to stop working. Rebooting the phone will fix the problem until you open Chrome beta again.
