Hey everyone,

I got the Marshmallow update last night and all seems well except for one thing that was working perfect before the update. Using "Ok Google" beeps then beeps again immediately and says "Can't open microphone". I've searched and this seems to have been happening for quite some time to others without any definitive solution but only just started for me yesterday when I did the update.

Clicking on the mic works fine for voice typing or searches, it's just the "OK Google" command that brings this message up.

Any help is greatly appreciated, I'm missing my hands free OK Google.

Mike

I'm with Bell as well. I downloaded the update yesterday and all is working.
I didn't even realize this was an issue.

Did you already try wiping the cache partition? https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-23240

Thanks for the suggestion Diddy but there is no difference after doing that. Strange part is sometime when it shows the can't open microphone message a voice also says "the internet connection is not strong enough at this time".

It seems to work properly when the bluetooth headset is on, it's only the internal mic that is causing this problem. I'm starting to lean towards doing a full reset and see if that fixes it.

I did a reset to factory for the settings and it seems to have fixed it, at least for now.
