Well, after facepalming for a while, im able to laugh about it. my god things can get jumbled while hunting for roms, especially since every mod has a mod of Mod... feels like back when i was trying to learn about linux and choose a distro. thanks again for the help, you have lent some invaluable information over what feels like the entire past week. ill be honest, ive gone through so many roms, and so many backups its warped my perception of time a little bit.

Well, time to hunt for a newer cyanogen build to play with!

I am kinda shocked with Reborn atm. I used it back when it was Nameless and it was nice but the battery drained alittle fast and didnt have the power widget in notification bar. This time around I just installed the TWS 50% fix .apk and my battery life is amazing and with all the improvements its now my choice ROM for 2.2. Hopefully the next update has a fix for the TWS bug.

Not sure what u mean but yes that is the app I am using to fix the TWS bug but still hoping the bug will be fix within the rom instead of requiring an app to put the phone in airplane mode for 12 seconds every boot.

Yeah, reborn is the best so far, and its probably the one ill stick with. The only thing i dont like is the keyboard now. it doesnt like my thick fingers, lol.

It seems to have come a very long way, my battery used to last six hours or so, and right now its been running over 20 hours with wifi in use, battery just hit 49%

. the tws "fix" is great, now i dont have to worry about it murdering my battery

Im telling you. This rom is terrific. Try adding Launcherr Pro. Makes your screens look cool once u customize it with ur preferences.

And this rom has two key boards if you didnt know. What you have to do is press and hold any writing area (i.e. the writing field in a text) then click input method and choose either the htc mod or swype.

I already have launcher pro all set up, its great! I was referring to the HTC mod keyboard, I can't stand swype, my fingers are far too bulky for it to work right. I'm trying to add the stock keyboard back on, its the only one that works well for me. I finally got the latest. aospcmod to run properly, and am seeing how well it handles battery life compared to reborn. As expected it has its pros and cons, which I'm weighing to make my final decision. I can't believe the difference between stock and custom Roms. This. $150 phone feels like a $500 piece of equipment! Now I just need to get a hardware Dev board to turn it into an oscilloscope/multimeter for my real hobby!

Check out the Arduino kit, requires Android 2.3.4, which means aospCM7 05/31+ on the Optimus V

Oh God, it broke.. tried overclocking in aospcmod, it locked up, and kept freezing then rebooting... so I did a standard wipe then tried nand restore, and none of my 4 backups will flash, luckily I could flash a zip. What would cause it to error out and ask me to do a restore in adb on all of my backups? Even new ones?

You overclocked to a number your phone couldn't handle. try staying ay 748 and under.

Is ur battery over 50%? Because that will cause nandroid backups not to restore but all u have to do it charge it first and they will work again.

no I'm sayiing over clocking at something it can't handle makes it reboot continuously. unfortunately, idk whats wrong with ur nandroid. try what post above says.

Yeah, it was my battery percentage, band is back to working. The only part I don't understand is that I turned on "reset CPU settings on boot" which should have stopped the loop from happening
