I have tried everything I can find on unrooting and tried them all, but I can not get it to fully unroot!!

Here is my details:
S-On
HBoot 1.12.0000
Radio 1.05.11.0606

I tried all three RUU programs and it starts the process, then as it's "sending" it says "Unknown Error" and stops.

I have lost my 3 and 4G connection and I need to return it to Sprint, but they won't touch it until I'm back to stock.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Nevermind, please delete!

FINALLY got it.

Actually, it may be instructive to post up what fixed it for you so someone else with the same problem might benefit.

Glad you got it to work though!

Edit: saw your thread on XDA. Looks like you didn't oem lock before running the RUU.

Yeah, pretty much. I was simply using SU to do the unlock and it apparently wasn't unlocking it fully, or not enough I guess because the RUU would not run at all.

It very well could have just been mine, but for anyone who needs to fully unroot for a trip back to the old Sprint Store, I would suggest doing the Fastboot OEM Unlock first, before running the RUU.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the info, can you further explain the fast book OEM unlock? You mean relock?

I would like to know this as well.

i figured it out, it's basically sending an ADB command to your phone to re lock the bootloader. the key here is connecting your phone and being able to communicate through your computers terminal using ADB. So you have to set up the Android SDK appropriately AND have the USB drivers set up too when the phone is connected to the computer while in the bootloader. Once you have all that done and then also relock your phone, you can run the RUU. The RUU was failing on me because the drivers were not set up right so the computer couldnt talk to my EVO. Oh, and it's FASTBOOT obviously, not fast book.

Yes, that's right. Sorry, I've been on the road and not paying attention to this thread.

Watch out. Fastbook sounds like something apple might sue over.
