OK I've had it....this phone is awesome!!!!!

Are you using an extended battery? Also what kernel are you using?

I think google should only make the gnex. So we can get a better experience using all of the apps on the market. Other devices slow us down.

Okay, I have done my share of ing about the lack of accessories and expected (not promised) more updates. But today I was faced with an employee that broke his thunder bolt. Normally I would give him my phone and go get the next hot phone. I couldn't think of a phone I wanted. He asked for a gnex like mine, I bought him another thunderbolt.

why should anyone be impressed with that? You obviously barley use the phone...

Exactly, I mean is that a phone that has been sitting on the dresser ALL day while you worked your 12 hour shift or what!

Stock battery, kernal 3.0.8-gaaa2611

@almath and beyond fire - way to be jerks, why can't you just be happy that I have a phone that is functioning well. Maybe I should have said "...to show how awesome this phone is" so it didn't sound like I was bragging how amazing I am, cause I wasn't. My phone had regular usage for me, a couple calls, a few texts, playing with some widgets and settings is about all I usually do. When I first got the phone it lasted 14hrs with 30% left then after screwing around with too many apps I was lucky to get 6hrs. A factory reset and its like brand new, I was just really excited it was working so well so I thought I would post to this thread because I've been one to whine about my GN before.

The devs allow this phone to be truly awesome. I have never seen anything like it. ROMS, themes, mods and all the extra cool stuff that is around for this phone.
I have never been able to make a phone "mine" like i have been able to with this device.
Loving My Nexus, greatest phone i have ever had or seen.

Same here.

I am on my second, stepped on my first one, my wife has one, NO PROBLEMS AT ALL.

That's 3 for 3.

Bye galaxy nexus!

I used to love this device when I was at home laid off. But now that I have to travel and move around a ton more. I've found it to be unreliable... Even with root and Franco kernel tweaks this device struggles to perform for on the go use... It's my own fault. I should have tested it a lot more before choosing this as my main device. So now I have to sell it. I was a HUGE android supporter, but now I have to consider totally switching to ios. Ugh! Please google start putting hardware requirements on all high end devices. So we don't feel the need to upgrade every 6months.

You should've started and stopped with this...

Yeah, I've contributed to the GNEX gripe threads but despite that, I do love this phone. Drives my wife crazy that I won't just go with a Maxx or something, but it is like the child that you just know has potential so I keep working with it and I know I'll land on a stable device eventually. I like it that much...!

I know how you feel

There's no denying the MAXX can attain a stronger signal and is unmatched in battery life, but in almost all other aspects, it feels like a downgrade in device.

Since I've read a few of the diffrent threads I am left with one question... Is this a phone people would recommend? I am up for an upgrade and this is the only new phone that interests me and my wife. What do y'all think?

A side thought. The connection problem and loss of data i think may be a Samsung QA problem. My wifes Facinate has been doing the same thing and we are getting a warr replacement tomorrow. My DX has been just fine.

I also have had no problems and love this phone. I came from a Droid X and while I liked that phone this upgrade is a huge leap! Battery life could be a bit better but I expected it to take a hit with 4g and a huge screen. Glad to know there are other people that love this phone!

You root and rom because you actually LIKE it??? How the heck is that normal??? People only root to fix problems.... I read it on these forums, it MUST be true! ;)

Describe your definition of normal. I to enjoy rooting and hacking just for the fun of it. Just because you do it to solve problems doesn't mean others can't do it just for funsies.

I'm almost positive that said post was meant to be read with a sarcastic tone lol
I, too, root for the enjoyment of hacking stuff. Now that I have the stock, rooted, deodexed, 4.0.4 update with leankernel 3.7.0, and a few other tweaks, I'm pretty set with this phone...for now anyways.

I think its awesome too, even though I'm on my third one.
As soon as I get one that has a good enough cell signal that it actually picks up incoming calls I'll be happy. Verizon's support admitted its a known problem, and said its luck of the draw as some phones suffer from it and others don't.
They gave me two options, switch to another kind of phone or keep trying with replacement phones till I either get a good one or get tired of dealing with it and decide to switch. I told them if I had wanted another phone (maxx) I would have bought it instead of the nexus to begin with. I also told them that in my opinion they didn't have a comparable phone to send me at this time. I want ics out of the box,on screen keys, no manufacturers skins, and a phone without 30 apps worth of bloatware.
So I agree with the OP even with the problems it has, yea,it's awesome.

My phone is very reliable. I an a volunteer firefighter and rely on my phone to receive calls. I also have downloaded many apps to utilize on the fire scene. I would say my gnex is very reliable.
