I have bought every Samsung Galaxy phone the S 1,2,3 and Note1,2 and I loved them for the most part. The only HTC I had before this was the One x+. Did I like it yes but had issues. I am not getting the S4..why because after seeing this screen I don't want to go back to amoled. Is LCD better? I don't know but I like it better. Every Galaxy S was different and refreshing and I have a short attention span obviously as you can see from my phone changing pretty regular. But I don't want the S4 because I want something different. I love the build of the One, the screen, and it's features. I can count how many times I used my s pen on one hand and I never used any of the gimmick features at all. If you use that that is great just I never did. I will go back to Samsung most likely for the Note 3 because I enjoy large displays and big batteries I just hope it's a more refreshing design and throw in some premium materials. Now the One is not perfect. I am not fan of the camera and I will never use the zoey thing ever. The battery life is passable but I was use to the car battery in the back of my Note 2. The no sd card is a small issue I just have to plug this phone into pc and transfer my music and pictures, no big deal. I'm sure the S4 is great I just wanted to say we should remember what's great about android one size, brand, type, or OEM fits all.

I like your attitude and I think it demonstrates perfectly one of the main problems we face when choosing modern tech. We are so obsessed with the latest, greatest, biggest, bestest and fastest that we don't always stop to consider the real world, day to day difference that such factors make to our lives. The difference between a 1.7ghz and 1.9ghz cpu in our phones might be completely undetectable to 99.9% of the population but as long as there is a microscopically measurable difference and we have the choice, we will always go for the faster of the two, even if that tiny performance edge has a negative impact elsewhere such as power consumption and therefore battery life. We pay a premium for full HD screens when, at less than 5", you need better than 20:20 vision to be able to see any difference. The amoled screens that Samsung use are, on paper at least, technically better than their LCD counterparts, but a great many people, such as yourself, find that LCD's actually look better to them.

I'll be honest and tell out that the HTC One is the first time I broke my own rule and bought a phone without trying it out for myself first. I did handle a dummy unit and was struck instantly with the way the thing felt in the hand, but as far as the hardware goes I could of gotten stuck with a very pretty lemon. On paper all the bits were there, quad core, big ram, HD screen etc, but that was no gurantee that they would all play together nicely and become more than the sum of the parts. I took a gamble and luckily in this case it paid off. I am glad that it has for you too.

Can we stop with the Samsung VS HTC threads already. HOLY SH!T, their is already about 20 of them.

Maybe the these two issues are related. The ability to capture a series of shots and then easily pick the best of the bunch is a powerful tool. If you try it you might like it. I definitely don't understand why anyone would say they would "never...ever" use it.

Ya, try it once. If you hate it, you hate it.

I also thought the zoe feature would be a gimmick that I'd hardly use but after taking a few at a small gathering of friends on Saturday and the phone making a nifty little video I have to say I really love the feature. Do yourself a favor and give zoes and highlight videos a chance.

I thought I'd only use Zoes on occasion but nearly every pic I take is a Zoe now

What is to hate? Or do you just typically hate something because others like it? Just saying you hate something is pretty uninformative and makes others discount your opinion. If you are saying you tried it once and hated it, perhaps you didn't do something correctly.

I tried it a few times and was not impressed but I will try it a few more times
