Hey, oldtimer! Actually, June 21 is the day I bought my Asus TF300 (big sale at Office Max). That was my first unskinned Ice Cream Sandwich device, but it's still only Android 4.0.3. Movin' on up to 4.0.4 with the SG3. I'm a recent Android convert (since the begining of 2012) from BlackBerry.

I got tired of waiting for BB10 and started doing research into Android thereby bypassing the closed iOS ecosystem. Android had the speed and performance with the customization potential missing in the iOS. Then, it came down to the HOX and the GS3 which ended up being an easy choice as the GS3 outperformed the HOX in both hardware/software and the HOX had uni-body construction thus no expandable memory. TouchWiz seemed more refined as a skin to the ICS OS than the Sense skin of the HOX. Ended up putting a Commuter case after three weeks and now a Defender case. Check out my review in the AT&T accessories forum.

GS3 is my daily driver while I still have a 9900 for work and a Playbook. The Playbook may go in the near future as, at some point, I will probably get an Android tablet. Need to control my needs to satisfy my electronics cravings.

In the spirit of showing off the pebble blue S3 here is my S3 on my new Samsung Series 9 15" laptop.

BB10...yeah, that's kind of like waiting for Godot, isn't it?

I sold my PlayBook just the other week. I had been holding in to it, even though I never used it. Beautiful hardware and UI, but I wanted a better ecosystem (one that wasn't closed, as you said, like IOS, and expandable storage so I had switched to Android.I need to control my needs to satisfy my electronics cravings, as well. Need to, but, well...refer to my sig line.

I am in a bit of a dilemma as I got the Playbook not only because I love gadgets but because of the smaller screen size of my recently retired 9810 and my work 9900. The GS3 screen size is so nice that I may stop bringing my Playbook on trips to stream movies in hotel rooms.
