Old contacts reappear

[Android Central Question]

So tonight all of a sudden all my phone contacts (even deleted ones from yearssssss ago) appeared on my gf phone out of the blue. Needless to say things didn't end well for me and i couldn't explain or convince her how they got on her phone and they aren't in my current contacts.

I went into Google and the old deleted contacts are not there either. How is this possible?

We don't share phones nor Gmail account. My account is only on my phone. I checked her and only her account is on her phone.

Has this happened to anyone else? Someone please help. I'm in the dog house right now.

Welcome to Android Central! They showed up in the Contacts app itself? Did you log into any other account of yours on her phone? Like Instagram?

If the contacts appear in the Contacts app, select one, and see which account they're saved to. Is it a Google account or the local Phone account?
