Old Emails Still On Phone

G4 stock email app is not removing emails that have been deleted from my email server. I'll check my email from my computer, read and delete them from the server. Then on my previous phone, an S4, when I updated the inbox or the next time it synced, those emails I deleted would automatically be removed from my phone. When I update my G4 inbox, those emails are still there. I have to manually delete them from my phone. An update will only download new emails, not clean up old ones. Any way to make this work like before?

My S4 was also running 5.1 so I don't think it's a Lollipop issue.

My Exchange account works fine. The email account in question is a Comcast POP3 account.

POP3 keeps emails on the server AND on the client, so you have to delete them from both. (That's one of the main differences between the protocols.) If you want them deleted when you delete them from either, change the account to an IMAP account. (Then delete the account in the phone and create it again.)
