Old TV off screen animation

Anyone know how to get the old TV turning off animation when you turn the screen off like there used to be in older phones?

You can root and install a custom rom, but me personally I don't miss it.

Yeah I don't want to root it just for that but was hoping there was a setting or app that would do it.

Yeah I tried that app. It does have the exact animation I am looking for. However I can't seem to get it to work with the power button on the top of the phone. It seems to only work with a widget button. Does anybody know how to map it to the physical button on top of the phone?

According to the apps's creator, that is not possible:

"Katecca replied on April 4, 2013
There is no way to hook up the screen off animation and audio effect with the power button. It is the restriction on a standard Android platform and all apps cannot make any linkage with the power button."

I actually like the widget /Screen off button... it very convenient ..once you use it ..you will rarely use the power button to lock the screen

You can also set it up to turn screen off from the notification drop down. Problem solved.

99 percent of the time .. I go to HOME before I lock the screen...

and that is where the widget is to lock the screen
