We don't know if Verizon will allow unlocked lte devices on their network. If they don't actively block unlocked devices, they don't have to support it. It just has to be compatible with their network.
There was some confusion just after HTC announced that they were unlocking they're bootloaders when a VZW rep tweeted that Verizon wouldn't allow phones with unlocked bootloaders on they're network. Verizon was quick to issue a correction. Apparently the rep confused bootloaders with SIM cards, and Verizon will indeed be allowing unlocked bootloaders on they're network. They have plenty of phones with unlocked bootloaders on they're network now, in fact. My Droid Incredible is unlocked, rooted and running a custom ROM and it works on Verizon's network just fine.
I didn't mean unlocked in that sense. I meant it in the sense that you can buy an unlocked gsm phone and use it on any gsm network as long as it has the supported bands.
We don't know if vzw will allow network unlocked devices on their lte network. If a variant of the next nexus supports 700 MHz on band 13, will Verizon allow it on their network.
The article mentions the OMAP 4460 processor. Does anyone else besides Motorola use OMAP processors? Isn't Motorola "due" to design the next Google Nexus device? HTC and Samsung got their chances.![]()
Logic says yes they are due but these things are not usually based on logic. I'm going to guess that it will be Samsung based on the pics. Regardless who makes it I'd love to get a hold of it but I'd be willing to bet it's going to AT&T for their LTE launch. Thats my opinion....
Idk why they just don't launch it on all 4 major carriers. Would make more sense and more sales but who knows anymore.
Do we know which manufacturer is making it this time?

Not yet. I'm still hoping HTC gets it, though LG wouldn't be bad either.
