I can't imagine dropping 1k on this phone and not wrapping it up.
That said, the top and the bottom of the front are all black. So really, unless you're gonna let your phone be naked and vulnerable, phone color's really don't matter.
Because all you'll see is the case.

I rum naked at work and at home. Only a case when I'm on the move. So color matters to me and wish Samsung had released the Blue one in the US

I can't imagine spending $1,000 on a phone only to throw it in an ugly plastic thing that adds bulk and takes away from the actual feel of the phone in the hand

clear thin Spigen case for my new baby

That's why I'm getting a clear case

I haven't bought one yet as the phone isn't coming until the 15th but I was thinking of a clear spigen one as I'm getting the gold one. However I know that I can't use a screen protector with this phone so I'm thinking that I might also need a walled style case.

I think I'll add an Otterbox case as well. I will have a few for certain. Need the slimmer one that I already ordered for my handlebar mount on road bike

There aren't screen protectors for the Note 8?
I must have missed that.

I tend to stay in away from clear cases because some of them yellow over time and makes the phone look cheap.
The best of cases will let you drop if you have a tendency to drop your phone often. I usually go with something slim like Spigen tough armor to have a better grip and be very careful and aware that this is an expensive device and needs to be treated accordingly.

I've had the Poetic Affinity since November 2015 on my Note 5 and no yellow. I couldn't find a clear one at first so I ordered this one. I'll probably get a clear one eventually. Probably just like my Note 5 one.
Clear over my Note 8 case.

They probably will offer the Blue version in a few months. They usually offer it at Best Buy. At least they did on other Samsung phones.
I've had clear Poetic case on my 6P and I'll probably get one for the Note 8. If not then a Spigen case.

I'm with you there. I currently am using an S8+ with the Samsung flip case which is as good looking as you can get for this device. It feels awful in the hand, and I am dying to show off the shiny silver case. I have a Whitestone tempered glass protector on it, and that gives it a little more bulk, but it is not seen.

For me, though, those "skins" that make your phone look like, say, wood, are the worst. If I buy am expensive, beautiful phone, why would I want to uglify it?

Totally invisible protection. That's what we need!

I've had this clear scratch proof case on my Note 5 for a couple of years and it hasn't yellowed over the years. I'm getting the same one for my Note 8. It also allows me to use the wireless charger.

You got a gold Note 8? They only gave me two choices black or the Orchid Grey. I chose the Orchid Grey. I probably should have ordered the black and bought an orchid gray case that might have looked even better or a lighter color case not so much Orchid gray I saw a few on Amazon so that's probably what I should have done.

OtterBoxes are good choices also that's all I used to get until I started using Spigen.
