Hi All,

I received a new Tab S 8.4 (Wi-Fi only ) and started using it using the existing Google account that I use for my Galaxy S4. I've noticed that Gmail, Newsstand and other Google applications never seem to update automatically, only when I sync manually. I have run multiple tests and a mail received within minutes on the S4 will not appear hours later on the Tab S. If I manually stop and restart sync by any method than mails will come in.

I have cleared cache, data and even factory reset several times to no avail. Does anyone have any advice? The mail is critical but would be nice to have other apps update too.

Welcome to Android Central! Have you tried it on different wi-fi networks? Does the same thing happen? Sometimes a home router can have certain settings turned on that can interfere with some sites (like firewall or QoS [Quality of Service] settings).
