On my Samsung Note 4, why isn't the default browser working?

Samsung Note 4 - Default browser not working

Whenever I attempt to set Chrome as the default browser it simply does not stay. Everytime I click another link it will ask again

"Complete action using" ... Internet or Chrome "Always or Just Once".

I have done all the usual attempts at clearing the cache, disabling "Internet" in options, etc. All have no affect.

Does anyone have a working solution to this?

Strange. Try hard reset?

As I've only just got the device 2 weeks ago, I hoped not to have to do that.

If I'm only one having this issue, then I may well have to try that.
