SO I currently have an upgrade and was thinking about using it on the DX. I really like the size and features it has over the D1 but am also tempted to wait for the LTE phones.

Is there anything else coming out in the near future that I should wait for besides the LTE phones or should I take the plunge and get the X?

My next upgrade would be in 11 months from now

thanks

Verizon has said that LTE phones won't be released until Q1 or Q2 of next year. When VZW releases LTE this fall, they'll only be releasing adapter cards for laptops and other portable devices. The reason I used my upgrade was because the X has such a nice and big screen and I don't see any device in the foreseeable future having a 4.3" screen.

By the time that LTE becomes something of value even for the luckiest of users, most of us will be only months from being able to do an Annual upgrade and right in time for a Dx or flagship refresh.

Ah thanks for the info, I will be honest I didnt know much about the LTE network besides it was to roll out this fall but now hearing it is just for laptops and such that pushes me more to getting the X now.

get the x now (or a d2 if you want a keyboard) with a 1 year contract. it should line you up nicely for an upgrade when the next batch of awesome phones arrive.

I wouldn't recommend a 1 year contract. If your the primary account you should be able to get an Annual upgrade at the 2 year contract price, just without the what is now $30 additional NE2 discount.

For example. If I ordered my phone on August the 16th it would have cost $199. Instead it was $149 on August 17th. On the 17th of 2011 I should be able to get a new $600 phone for $199 and push my contract to only August 2013. Otherwise I wait till April of 2012 and I can get the same priced phone for 169.99, and have the contract till April 2014.

In the end it cost something like an additional $100-$150 to get a 1 year deal because they also make you pay activation.

Well I am using an upgrade from another phone on my account (NE2) on the primary number. The primary number still has 11 months until the NE2 and that will be put on the other phone and will use that when it is up.

I guess that is the good thing about being the only person out of 3 that uses the upgrades. The wife uses an LG envy that she loves, she hates smartphones and it was like pulling teeth getting her to switch to a qwerty phone from her old dumb phone even thought she complained texting was a pain on it.
