One M9 owners: What are your HTC One M9 first impressions?

M8

From my fingers to you on the M8, M9 or the Chromebook! :D

Too bad that's not a M9 screenshot. That said, like Alex I would like to know what ROM you are using as well. I wonder how quickly a ROM like this would be available for the M9?

Thanks, it was between this one and Android Revolution, I shall take your suggestion!

How do I know which firmware I should download for my device?

Yeah, I've used that one, Viper and SD. SD takes the cake with performance and battery life in my experience.

I think Samsung knew going in what they were doing. I don't think its a problem with the S6. Otherwise, why go to MWC and push your wireless charging and quick charge features? They went the Apple route with their phone and knew people would upgrade and accept the fact the battery life isn't spectacular. HTC on the other hand probably had to shove a bigger battery in the phone because they knew to get anywhere close to the M8's battery life that they would need a bigger battery. Bigger battery....bigger camera = No room for PSR or OIS = Fail

How's that Samsung stock doing must be awesome!?

Does that ROM happen to perform any voodoo on that M9 camera low light shots to make them decent? Doesn't hurt to ask.

Would this work on a Canadian CDMA like Telus?

I actually haven't flashed any ROMs on this M9 yet. I do not know.

looks like he just released it yesterday and it does say camera quality improvement so wasn't sure what that meant.

Terrible camera for the most part, greenish tint on screen is a bit annoying-is this defective or normal? I thought I read it a couple times about this but not sure if I should get it replaced. Anyone else? I cannot find any info on this anywhere.

Yeah, a few of the reviews pointed out issues with how pictures were taken and appeared on screen. To me its normal because those are the models of phones that HTC gave to people for their reviews. Crazy isn't it?

I was talking about the display itself, not just through pictures. I talked to T-mo and the guy said there are reports that the display does produce a slight greenish tint, not necessarily a defect though. Also mentioned in this review. Just gonna keep it for now, if it becomes bothersome then I'll return it. I looked back on my M8 and notice it has a blue tint I never noticed before until now. I should also note that I see the dress as white and gold... :p ;)

I wouldn't settle for a tinted screen. But that's just me. My M7 has a perfectly white screen. No tint.

M9 (Sprint) arrived on Wednesday. I spent most of the next day trying to get the data to work but that was a Sprint issue not HTC. I'm coming from 2 years using the M7 and except for the mic that just suddenly stopped working after 16 months (known issue that HTC doesn't want to admit to...like Apple and their wifi issue), I've had nothing but great things to say about it. Never had those purple-tint photo issues on either new or replacement phone.

I haven't had a lot of time with this phone yet but so far, so good. It flies...but that was to be expected. Too soon to provide inside info on the battery life and I had a clear Spigen case waiting for this phone's arrival so i can't speak to the "slippery" issue but it doesn't seem any less easy to hold than my M7.

I am shocked, however, that the M9, which started with Lollipop, doesn't have the Trusted motion unlock on it when i had it on my upgraded to Lollipop M7...and was loving it!! When it was in my hand or pocket, it was a trusted device not requiring the pin in order to unlock.

More later but First Impressions are that I made the right choice!

Ordered my M9, it's coming in monday. I wanted to know if anybody has tested out the full phone encryption with the M9? If so, is there significant lag that comes along with it?

I know once you enable it you can only disable it by performing a full factory reset, so wanted to know ahead of time what I would be getting into.

Thanks!

According to Pocket Now and I think John Karr said the same thing. The M9 will lag just like the S6. Don't need encryption for the phone to lag apparently.

I've yet run into a point where this phone lags.....at all. These "assumptions" are false. Even on power saver mode, when I put it on after my battery hits 30 percent, I hit no lag. So.............
