One Plus 5 - USB C to HDMI cable

Don't you need a build prop tweak

Haven't unlocked or rooted my 5, but I doubt there's anything that can be changed in the build.Prop that would enable video out through USB-C...

If you've got a link to XDA or some such saying otherwise though, I'd be interested in taking a look.

I don't think it supports video out through USB... But it's possible I'm wrong.

I do output to my TV, but I use Google cast to cast the screen to my chromecast.

Hi
If it is possible through micro usb, and I have done that with my Samsung Note 3 and Note 10.1 2014, so it should be possible through usb c also. Well, at least I hope it is :)

I never said it wasn't possible using USB-C, I said this device doesn't support it.

What you did with your Note 3 is irrelevant I'm afraid.

Google Chromecast works well for this. You will need to attach a Chromecast dongle (cost $25 - $35) to an hdmi port on your tv. It will also work with your Samsung phone and tablet and is great for casting YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, and almost anything else.
