One Plus 6T and OK GOOGLE

Will the 6T Ok Google UNLOCK the phone and send txt messages?
Or like the pixel 3 must we UNLOCK the phone first?

Thanks

You can't unlock it on the pixel 3?? That's very surprising...

I'd imagine you can on the 6t since you can on the 6. It's actually a Google services setting and works beautifully on the 6.

Here is the setting on my phone.

Yes, Google removed voice unlock from the Pixel 3/3XL, but not from earlier Pixel phones. Why they think it's a security issue on the P3 and not other phones is a mystery.

That is absurd. Did they say it was for security reasons??

Yes was able to unlock and send text on 6t with one request.

But had to put in a 2nd request for the body of the message.

FYI I had asked 1+6 users if you could voice unlock and was told you cant and it was wrong it works fine!

Love this phone much better then my Pixel XL 2 more narrow and taller and new at $279 it was a smoking deal!

Google hasn't officially stated a reason other than confirming it was done (IOW intentional, not a bug). Every article I've read on this speculates that security is the only rational reason for doing this.

If security issues meaning it's just easier to unlock when someone "impersonates" another person's voice, then that would be why there's an option for it, just like any other security option.

I don't use it that much, but it's a great option and I hope it doesn't completely go away...
