I've been creeping on here and have found nothing that really fits my situation. I'm following this guide : How-To: Root and Install Android 2.2 Froyo On the HTC Droid Incredible

I get stuck on step 6. I open up unevoked and nothing happens. I think i have the drivers right. When the phone is pluged in normally the installed driver is "android bootloader interface" same when its in hboot mode.

Can anyone show me the errors of my way? I'll continue to research and try things. Also i have windows 7 and no other OS.

If you hold down the volume button press power and it boots into hboot can your computer see the phone? If so you have the correct drivers and what is needed for unRevoked 3.1.

Do you have the Android SDK installed. If you do open up a cmd prompt and goto your tools folder in the sdk. open up adb....

c:\AndroidSDK\tools\adb device 'press enter'

Does it list your phone? If so you have everything installed right.

And did you uninstall HTC Sync from your PC...?

My computer can still see the android phone under sevice manager and goes into "hboot usb plug"

The sdk might be the issue, i popped in my 16gb card instead of the stock 2gb and im guessing that sdk is on the other card? If i can't find the other card, am I hosed?

Also unrevoked is now saying its waiting for a reboot, I've rebooted it under fastbook, and instead of mounting the disk drive, put it on USB-charge only to no results.

No the SDK is something you have to download to your computer. The main reason you originally needed it was for the drivers and adb so you could root your phone. So no don't worry about your other card. Having HTC sync installed still could cause an issue like douger was saying. Other than that I'm not sure what your issue could be.

One other thing to try is make sure usb debugging is enabled on your phone. menu --> settings --> application -->Development --> USB debugging

Make sure it's checked. Then startup unRevoked without the phone plugged into your computer. Wait till it says waiting. Then plug in the phone. It should pick it up and start the process.

HTC sync was the culprit..I'm rooted now! Backin up all my music and pics and putting skyraider 2.5 on!
