One S Phone and Internet

Just got the One S. I was on a phone call, and wanted to check something on the internet at the same time, but the browser would not load any pages. Is there a setting on the phone to let this happen? Sorry for asking this is my first Android phone.

The phone has to say 4g in order to get data and voice simultaneously. What was your data connection during the call?
