Yeah definitely agree. That's cool. It's pretty awesome to see Sammy bring newer features to older flagships. Makes the decision to upgrade a little harder.

Telus Canada website states update is coming April 13th. Rogers and Bell will probably be the same date.
So it sounds like Verizon is the key factor right now...I'm on an unlocked S10 direct from Samsung that I use on TMO in the US and no such luck.
I think it has to be active 45 days on t-mobile to be able to unlockI'm on a TMO phone I bought direct from Samsung, and had to call TMO to put into their database to unlock--and no such luck yet.
So, I call this a TMO issue.

I totally understand that , and it's pretty stupid how they handle buying a carrier phone outright and make you jump through hoops to get it unlocked.yes, I know. I unlocked my phone last May.
My point was that I know for a fact that my phone is in TMO's database.
So here's the story: you can buy a TMO phone directly from Samsung, but all that means is that it comes with TMO software loaded. Because it didn't come from TMO, TMO doesn't know anything about that phone. For all TMO knows, that was a factory unlocked phone. The IMEI is NOT in TMO's database.
What does that mean? That means that even though the unlock mechanism is there, you can't use it. Yes, the phone has to be active 45 days on TMO's network. That is NOT the issue here. The issue is that TMO doesn't have that phone in its database--TMO's database contains information ONLY on phones TMO sells to the end user.
One solves this by calling TMO and asking for help unlocking. The CS rep will walk down the path, asking for IMEI and so on, and eventually will realize that this phone--despite being a TMO phone--isn't officially a TMO phone for TMO's purposes. The CS rep, if he's any good, will handle this without any problem by adding the IMEI to the database. Suddenly the phone's built-in unlock mechanism will work within the guidelines TMO specifies.
My entire point was, now I know my IMEI is in TMO's database--and therefore I should be served identically to phones that TMO sold directly. I should not be treated like a second class citizen for things like updates.
It's the difference between being thought of as an unlocked phone, which I wasn't, and a "regular" TMO phone.
