One UI 5 Home Verizon Crashing

Has anyone experienced this:

Opening your phone from the AOD goes to the home screen only to freeze for 10 secs then either behave like normal or crash?

When you have a crash you want clear Data then force stop., Cahe can try if little glitch

Been there done that, cleared both data and cache no joy. I've just killed Home Up to see if that is the issue. unfortunately I have to wait a while to see the results.

I wanted to make absolutely sure but yes it seems when I use Home Up in Good Lock I get the occasional freeze. I haven't seen anyone post the same issue so I'm working on the premise that it's a me and mine problem. I think I'll do a full reset when I get a chance (something I would usually do after a OS upgrade) and hopefully that will clear it up.

Wonder if that is also my problem. I'm getting 3-5 second lag when opening or closing apps and occasional OneUi is not responding.

With mine it would only happen right after I got into the phone whether it be by pin or fingerprint. It would go to my home screen but it wouldn't react to any input whatsoever for 8 to 10 seconds. And it would only happen if the phone was untouched for about an hour.

I have the same issues on my unlocked S22 plus on Verizon. I also use Home Up. I wonder if turning off Home Up will fix it?

Use another launcher like Nova see if it does it still.

So far, what has seemed to work for me is clearing partition cache and repair apps from the recovery menu. I actually did this about three times. Then I went to phone settings->apps-> One UI Home and force closed.

If that didn't work, then my next step was going to clear data in One UI Home & then force close. But so far the above seems to have worked.

Unfortunately turning off Home Up and clearing the App data and cache didn't fix it. When it freezes, only swipe down to open the notification shade works.

I was ready to do a factory data reset. If the problem returns, that's my plan. I'm guessing your best bet is to either wait for any updates that might possibly fix it or do an FDR. Of course, be sure to back up everything before doing an FDR.

Yep. I've been using Nova for a long time. But every once in a while I try the stock launcher, just because. But it usually doesn't last long.

That's how I originally noticed the problem. Nova works without issue but then again I didn't use home up with Nova. The only reason I'm using Home Up with One UI is for the vertical app drawer I've cleared cache and data which had no effect.

I switched over to Ruthless Launcher and it's pretty smooth and has a lot of customization. Seems just as smooth as Nova.
