Suddenly, out of the blue, I started getting the message in the title: "One UI Home keeps stopping." It gives me the options to App Info, Close app, and Send Feedback. I have tried each one.

I also did a Restart, same problem as soon as the phone starts. Did a complete Power Off, same result. Did Send Feedback through Members with Logs Data, but clearly no answer yet.

I can make calls from phone with closed screen, but apps when open either will not start or start very very slowly.

Any thoughts? Ideas?

OK, did the Clear Cache. When I tried to Force Stop, nothing appears to happen. No reaction, no blinks, no changes on the page. Did a restart and initially appeared to load normal home screen, then flashed back to no widgets and "blinking" icons. Notice reappears that "One UI Home keeps stopping".

Did not try Clear Data option(14.21 MB).

Each time I leave App Info and come back, there is a new Cache Data amount of 81.92 KB. Select Clear Cache, goes to 0 KB. Exit App Info, Notice reappears on screen. Select App Info, go to Storage, Cache Data now at 69.63 KB. Clear Cache again, back to App Info, Select Force Stop, get notice this might cause error, Select OK. No apparent change.back to HOme screen, after about 5 seconds, notice reappears"One UI Home keeps stopping".

Seems like I'm stuck in a loop somehow and can't find the exit. Do I need to do a Factory Reset and Restore from a backup??

Clear Data and force stop it

Thought I found a solution. Did Clear Data. Of course, home screen reverted to generic home screen. Went to Accounts and Backup>Restore Data. Chose last backup of the Flip6 (Oct 09), unselected all except Home Screen and Apps. Selected Restore, then Done.

Home screen appeared to be good, but after a couple minutes, it reverted to the "One UI Home keeps stopping" notice. Icons on screen for about three seconds, then screen goes off, then three seconds, off, etc. When in this routine, no touch on screen works, no swipes, no icons, etc, except pull down from top and select Settings gear.

Gonna try the whole sequence again, but not getting hopes up. Interestingly, I can still operate apps previously selected on the cover screen. A little clunky, but minimally functional.

It's strange, did it recently have an update?
Temporary solution could be using the third party launcher like Nova?

No recent update. But it's possible I found the culprit. On my home screen, I have long, long time used a widget from Weather Live that provides Clock and weather info. When I restore data, everything is functional with touch, swipes, etc. Apps open and close, other pages load with swipes, etc. However, the Weather Live widget is blank. I removed the widget, touched the open space, selected another iteration of the same widget, went through the configuration, and as soon as I apply it, One UI Home goes crazy again.

I have been through this routine twice now, same result both times, so fairly confident it is the Weather Live widget. Too, bad -- I use it one multiple devices, including tab S9+ and have for years. Maybe they did a background adjustment that caused it to not play well with One UI 6.1.1. And I am on the latest software version, I think: F741U1UES1AXHC. September 1 Security Patch.

Guess I will have to double check the Tab S9+, since it is also on One UI 6.1.1 and running the same widget. Then will have to look for a suitable alternative.

I've been experiencing the same thing today (started around noon EST). I am also a Weather Live user.

Went thru clear cache on most apps as well as applying recent updates. When I did the Clear Data on One UI, the home screen reverted to the default as was your experience. Manually began to reload the home screen, added the Weather Live widget about halfway thru the process and everything went bonkers. Once the widget was deleted & the phone restarted, it was stable again.

And just to confirm, I am still stable. I removed the Weather Live widget and substituted one from Weather24. All back to normal so far.

And I did go to the Tab S9+ to check. Using the same Weather Live widget on the Tab (with OneUI 6.1.1) and it seem to be fully functional. Appears to be unique to the Flip6.

Does not look like an earlier version is available. Version in the Play Store is ver. 7.8.5, was last updated in late September. I tired complete uninstall of the app. All works fine. Reinstalled the app. Works fine. BUT, if I activate the widget that comes with the app, then One UI goes bonkers. Something in the widget no longer wants to play nicely.

Mine did the same thing this morning; it ended up being the Weather Live app. I uninstalled it and my phone is working fine now.

Thanks. I think I'll just let it ride. Last time I tried to install an APK earlier version, it went all right, but Play Store just updated it anyway. I can live without the app. Juat glad I was able to ID the culprit and let some others know about the same issue.

Update: I downloaded and installed the OS Update today (F741U1UES1AXIB, 430.44 MB, October 1, 2024 Security Patch). Then I reinstalled Weather Live from the updated Play Store. One UI Home worked fine with the app reinstalled, so I went to the next step -- installed the associated widget. Surprise: all worked fine!

However, 20 minutes later I reopen the Flip6 to find it still works just fine, but the widget has disappeared and when I try to get it again, the Weather Live app does not show up in the list of apps from which I can select a widget.

Seems my Flip6 had automatically put the app into Deep Sleep. I enabled it again and the widget was again available. Not sure what is the conflict between the UI and the app. Will monitor and see how things develop.

The developer probably has not updated the app to work with One UI 6.1.1. Send them an email to let them know.
