one ui

Certainly all of the home pages will be different. But settings, etc. are also a part of One UI.
I prefer buttons to gestures whenever possible. I even use a button to pull down notification bar. Gestures take much more attention and often required 2 handed use.

I also like the new recents and gesture navigation. However, Bixby Home is useless now, as long as the cards only work in the order that Samsung thinks they should. Bixby Voice Unlock is gone. The new ui design that might improve ease of access for some, while wasting space for others. Night mode should be able to work with themes and the theme store should have been better prepared for the new os instead of getting broken by it.

I'm also not a fan of the clock and I would prefer to just turn it off instead of having it in the wrong place.

Not many of these things are fixable

Bixby Voice works for me.

Ty kind sir. I side loaded Pie and barely notice any changes. Note: I'm running Nova launcher and didn't change anything.

Question. I use nova also and like you it was a seamless move. Until I noticed that with the change nova no longer had notifications count appear on some apps. I contacted nova and the email I got back was saying problems with Teslaunread and that they were phasing that out and modifying nova to eliminate dependence on teslaunread. I had to switch back to the standard launcher but never uninstalled nova. Today I got an update on nova and tried it again but it seemed like it still had the same bug. You have any problem with the notification count?

Are you referring to app icon notifications? If so, I had to "enable notifications" for Nova, and then it resolved this for me. I had to dig around some, but I'll see if I can remember how I did it.

Yes, it was the app icon notifications. The problem I had with nova was not all of them were coming through. Some were, some weren't. I contacted support for nova and they said that the bug was with TeslaUnread and that they were working on an update to work without TeslaUnread being involved. As a temp fix, they recommended using just the flag without the number count. Didn't work for me, I got red dots on red icons and couldn't see them. Just got an update, but didn't seem to work.

Yes sir. Tesla unread is the problem. I don't have any solution yet.

I like One UI, haven't used Nova since I got it. I think probably because they resized the icons. I prefer them bigger.

The only thing I miss from oreo and samsung experiance is how it handled split screen. Other than that I love the update. I have better battery life, dark mode, that little tool circle that lets you rotate your screen only when you want to and not automatically, gestures, a more fluid experience, bixby button remapping, and touch sensativity control to name a few. I really like the update and where things are going with the OS and samsungs twist on things.

They released v6.1 of nova prime today to completely do away with tesla unread and sort the notification issues.

I have not upgraded yet, but will do this evening.

I'm adjusting to it, but I'm still not a fan. I can't even use dark mode, so it's not a factor for me.

Brad, a new version of Nova is out in beta, which now has a new option for Numeric Dots that does not require TeslaUnread but does require Nova Prime. As opposed to just the Dots, this adds a number to the badge.

I've been running nova for years. Just got the latest updates. I tried the Experience desktop and like you, I wanted larger icons. Went back to nova. Made the icons 120% larger and staying with nova again.
