So I just came back from the At&t store to compare the One X's screen to my Galaxy Nexus', and I wasn't impressed. All the blogs say the Super LCD 2 display looks much better, but I preferred the higher saturation and deeper blacks on the Nexus. I was planning to return my Nexus to get an Evo LTE, but now I'm not sure.

So has anyone compared the two screens? And how is the One X's screen in the direct sunlight?

And sorry for that random semi-colon in the title.

I own both the galaxy nexus and the One X. By far the One X screen is better in sunlight. Its better in almost every aspect. I hate how whites in the nexus looks washed out and with a blueish tint. This screen in the One X u
is superb.

I second this. The pentile matrix also killed it for me. Yes, I notice it.

I own the GSM Gnex and my wife has the One X LTE, the One X screen wins by far.

I own a GN and the HTC One X is screen is marginally better at most.

I guess it depends a lot on the background.

A dark wallpaper with bright colors will look much better on the SA HD of the Nexus.

Any wallpaper with lots of whites will look better on the One X's screen. Especially the browser.

As everyone already knows, Amoleds are better for darks and LCDs are better for whites.

Honestly, you can know this by comparing even regular Amoled screens to older LSDs. As for the Pentile, I won't even go into that craziness. I refuse to believe that people who see it honestly would notice it if they were using the device normally. At least in the case of the GN.

Now as for the Pentile on the Droid Bionic, whole different story. It's devastatingly oblivious. I've owned both, so I truly can tell.

What it comes down to is simply preference. I use a black backgrounded live waler with the Nexus particles zipping around(Nexus Revamped) and its spectacular!

To each their own I suppose...

I also owned the gnex and to me its screen is not better the HTC One X sorry sammy i prefer real vs cartoon and i am out in light more than dark so i need to see my screen i love it and the gnex camera sucks hard core boiled eggs add another reason why i said i owned a gnex. let me steal this from our moto brethren (hello One X) your beautiful , your beautiful i know. blah blah.. you know the song peace.

I have the Galaxy Nexus and HTC One X. The One X screen is so much better than the Nexus. Anything light-colored on the Nexus has a bluish tint, whereas the color balancing is much better on the One X. The Nexus display is over saturated, and text is more course compared to the One X.

I also used to have a Galaxy Nexus. The One X Screen is not even in the same league as the Nexus's Display... When I fist saw the One X in person I didn't even realize it was a real screen, I thought it was a dummy phone. that screen was SO clear it looked like the image was painted on the screen. I toughed the scrren and it reacted. I was SO supprised, I picked it up and couldn't believe how clear, crisp abd amazing this screen was. If anything when I first got my Galaxy Nexus, I remember being let down by the screen.

The One X's screen is without a doubt the best screen I have ever seen on a mobile device.

This sort of thing comes down to personal preference, and I much prefer the HOX. I *do* notice the pentile effect in certain situations and it bugs me. I also think the colors on the Nexus look over-saturated, but that is a matter of personal taste. Don't get me wrong, I think the Nexus has a *very* good screen, I just think the HOX is outstanding.

I was also very pleased to see how well the HOX screen holds up in bright sunlight. Unless the angle you're holding it at makes it directly reflect the sun it is easily usable.

Not to change the direction of the post; however, it is good to see so many of you with both a GNex and a HOX... Helps with my own justification of keeping both myself!

Played with a one x in the AT&T store today. As much as I love my Nexus I was very close to switching back to AT&T for it. Only thing that held me back was I don't want to lose my unlimited data. From what little time I had with it the screen appeared far superb to my Nexus screen.
