It would be good if the battery percentage could go inside the battery icon like on a Nexus device, and if the NFC icon could be hidden (which I have off to hide it)... hopefully in Nougat.

Can't you just download it in the Play Store still? My Moto X 2014 has it. I plan to use it on the OP3T when it gets here later this month.
