OnePlus 3 or a Nexus 6P?

Go for OnePlus 3 with eyes closed.
Best phone with great dev support.
Google just brings new bugs with software updates nothing else.

I have no dog in this fight - you do whatever makes you happy.

I am not one of those people. I have a 4K tv because I do care. I have had all of the Samsung, LG, Apple phones with all of the best screens. The OnePlus 3 screen is good.

You have no basis whatsoever for commenting on the screen. Just because you read some review (which I also read) does not give you the right to downplay the opinions of the people that actually have the device and can view the screen.

Really - no basis whatsoever? Have you even checked out the three links that I posted. I could post a dozen more. If you love the screen - great, enjoy. Since I have the Nexus 6P (and OP1),I was simply trying to pass on information people trying to decide might find useful (the subject of this thread). Nothing personal here...

Having almost always had Samsung phones, and having had the previous 4 Galaxy S flagships, I can confidently say that the OnePlus 3 screen is not as good as what Samsung are putting out.

What I can also say, however is that the screen is brilliant. I had to fiddle with the colour settings a bit as they weren't great out of the box (I'm assuming some reviewers have just taken it out of the box? Some screens will be out of the box right for someone, wrong for others. It's like buying a TV, you don't take it home and have it in Retail mode. You set it up.)

No concerns from me though. If having the best screen on the market is important, this probably ain't the phone for you. If you want a phone with a great screen, this should still be in your list of candidates imo! Screens can be measured, but are ultimately subjective - maybe the most subjective of all measures of a phone? Who knows.

Owned a 6P for 4 months and the screen cracked. So now own a One Plus 3. My younger brother has a 6P so I can still directly compare the two devices side by side.

I'll make one thing clear. The One Plus 3 has a MUCH MORE premium feel to it than the 6P and the odd thing about it is I really can't pin point explicitly why. The metal feels more premium. I think that has to do with the cheap paint job they did with the 6P on my brother's graphite model but it feels rough while the One Plus 3 feels smooth and expensive. The 6p also has flat sharp edges while the One plus has a curved glass front which makes it look more expensive also. The One plus 3 feels as if its more tightly screwed together. It reminds me heavily of the iphone 6s build.

On to the display. This is the part that surprised me the most. I thought I was in for a disappointing downgrade due to 1080p but to my pleasant surprise, the One Plus 3 screen just seems to 'pop' more. I think it has to do with the fact that there is a gap between the display and the glass on the 6P while it appears the One Plus 3's display is laminated to the glass. I'm not sure if this is the case but it APPEARS that way. That along with how the glass curves around the edges gives a 'floaty' appearance to the display that makes it 'pop' compared to the 6P. The 6P's display just looks flat in comparison. Also, the 6P's yellow tint is woefully apparent next to the One Plus 3. VERY small text did appear just ever so slightly sharper on the 6P. I did a max brightness test with adaptive brightness off for both devices and the One Plus appears to have a marginal lead in max brightness.

Performance wise I really can't notice the difference between the two unless I did trivial side by side speed tests in which case the One Plus 3 did beat out the 6P. Almost every app launched quicker but not in a way that really matters. Both devices are truly buttery smooth.

I ditched my 6p for this and have zero regrets. Now will I still have this after the next Nexus announcement? Chances are unless the Nexus blows me away tech wise I'll keep this phone.

Just this year alone, I had the nexus 6P, Samsung Galaxy S7 & edge.

I honestly can't tell the difference with the Display & Performance. I was say Camera too but this is my least of worries. As Michael Fisher said in his review of OnePlus 3, you need to be Pro Photographer to really notice the difference.

I'm not the type that will compare or look at PERFORMANCE & SPEED, ETC. test results...I forgot what it's called.

Put this was, if OP needs DUAL SIM cards than go with OnePlus 3 otherwise as I always say with FLAGSHIPS.. Flip a coin because you can't go wrong. LOL

Well, OP3 vs flagship - there is a relatively huge price difference. I've been pretty critical of software issues in the OP3 but those aren't worth spending $300 more on a flagship in my opinion. The longer I have the OP3 the less I notice those bugs and the more impressed I am with how fast it is and how good it looks.

Having used a Sony Z5, Nexus 6p, Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S7edge as daily drivers this year, I have to agree with a lot of others have said on this thread. Each of those other flagships are excellent in their own ways, but to date, the OnePlus 3 is my personal pick for the best of them all. It may not have the best screen, or the most features, or the perfect camera, but for me, on all key aspects, this phone is in the top two or three and, as a sum of its parts, it comes out on top. Add to that the price, and the OnePlus 3 is a clear winner in my books.

I own bother the 6p and OP3 and I like the OP3 better. Battery life is better the camera is better and I hated the bezels on the 6p. I do miss the front speakers though.

Currently using my OPO and it's running like it's still brand spanking new. used a Note 5 for 3 weeks and couldn't get to grips with Touchwiz. i'm on the edge of getting the OP3 but after i keep reading about the terrible customer support, i am now hesitant. contemplating on waiting it out for the new Nexus, but i doubt even the lower spec Nexus will launch at the OP3 price

I'd go with 6P or wait for the 2016 nexus. Open is better performance I think thanks to its large amount of ram and newer cpu/gpu but I'd say in a comparison, 6p wins in most of the other departments, especially updates. Nexus is first for updates.

Because the credible review sites say so. Did you read this?
Display Analysis - The OnePlus 3 Review
Actually many review sites say the same thing. Jason Howell says the same thing on this episode of All About Android:
https://twit.tv/shows/all-about-android/episodes/271?autostart=false

I'm not sure how much more evidence you need...
Maybe if you bothered to read it you'd realise that was when it was using NTSC, and that anandtech updated their review when it got sRGB, and said it went from being one of the most innacurate displays to one of the most accurate.

And that was ultimately still based on certain standards, not following it doesn't necessarily make it worse. Like using Samsung's vibrant mode instead of the standard mode.

Aaaand I'm replying to old posts like an *****. :-(
