OnePlus One L Update is Almost Here

My phone was pretty much the same as yours (unlocked bootloader, TWRP) and I was able to install the OTA and get root back via TWRP.

Thought I'd share this for what its worth. I flashed TWRP and played around with the 11s for awhile, then updated to OxygenOS and honestly was NOT impressed at all. I flashed MultiROM and (just in the past week) downloaded 6 of the top-rated Lollipop ROMs available, starting with CM12 nightlys, then switching to Euphoria, Exodus, Slimpop and Liquidsmooth. They got better (respectively) but being a risk taker, I decided to push the envelope and am so glad I did. I'm currently using Blisspop 5.1 (official) as my primary rom and I must say, it is incredible. I spent about a day with each and IMHO this is the best ROM available and is very, very stable. Unbelievably customizable and performs nicely with no bugs of lags. I know I'm off topic and a long winded but I had to share my experience and hopefully save 'someone' some time and energy, so you can get the most out of this phenomenal device. Just follow the install advise carefully and you won't have a problem, flashing recovery was the hardest part. Anyway, that's it, so enjoy people.

I don't get the update fever. I buy a phone for what it is then, not some stupid update in the future. As it is, I'm having screen dimming issues now I didn't have before the update. I don't care about nor need updates. I'm just glad it didn't completely kill my phone.

Fixed! All I had to do was turn off adaptive brightness. Whew that's a relief.

Utter hypocrite that I am, I just tried the latest CM12.1 nightly!

But I'll be honest and admit that it was just an urge to fiddle and not based on any problem I was having with CM12s. I'm so in the habit of installing leaked OSes from BlackBerry (still doing it!); it's a tough habit to break. But in the BlackBerry case, there have been a number of significant features that we've been waiting for.

It's still true that anyone who hasn't updated shouldn't feel they're missing out on much.

I do like the new icons, very pretty. And I fixed the screen dimming - it was just the adaptive brightness. :)

I've been installing cm12.1 nightlies.. unfortunately the auto update check stopped working since upgrading to cm12.1..I am downloading it manually from the website and updating it.. is this a known issue?
