Anyone with experience using the 5 on Fi? I'm contemplating leaving Fi simply because the selection of phones is frustrating, but I do enjoy the service and user experience.

My understanding is that it may work, but only on one service (T-mobile).
I don't think the 5 even has the needed bands for Sprint

My understanding: Won't work because there's some ROM level software required to make the service switching (the big sell of FI) work. And Google is not making that part of the AOSP, so not likely to making it into any ROMS any time soon.

Re: working on Sprint: yes it does. You just need a Sprint SIM. The radios/bands are definitely there.

As long as the sim as been activated on Fi, it can be used in any compatible phone, but on T-Mob only, which isn't that big of a deal since Sprint stinks so bad anyway. The only other feature that doesn't work is the WiFi calling, but most ppl I know that have turned this feature off anyway since it causes calls to drop when switching between WiFi and Cell service. Voicemail and such works since it uses Google Voice and the app can be installed for that.

I saw this and thought "the spirit/AI that inhabits the Master sword?" For like 5 seconds...
