Op Ed: Google's Looming Pixel 4 disappointment

Sorry
I got a 3XL

It's O.K.

But they could do a lot better.

Not interested in a kid grade phone what so ever.

Fastest and newest update does nothing for me either.
Great camera..wife's note 9 takes just of good of pictures.
Don't take pictures at night.
So that does not do a lot for me.
Don't care for playemoji

The inside of their phone is a yr behind except the processor .
More memory should of been in the phone last yr.

Battery was also too small.

I like not having all the extra apps.
But at what price.
Seems like they have a cost accountant designing the phone

For what they are charging, they don't offer very much.

They send out questionnaires.

But don't hear what you say.

You are supposed to get excited about a new phone.
Pixel offers no excitement.

If you want my money.
Offer me more than software like facial recognition.
That does nothing for me.
If the police wants my facial recognition.
The cameras have it.

Seems California if all states are against it.

.

Does anyone even care what Alex*Burn In*Dobie says after the Pixel 2XL debacle?

I know I don't.

Let's face it, most of the disappointment with the Pixel is caused by it being worse than Samsung & Hauwei's best, especially the cameras.

Most ridiculous post in this thread. Pixel computational photography is the standard to which all others are trying to achieve. The 4 will absolutely increase distance, yet again, from the field.

It's a real shame Google is the only big player not offering a wide angled lens on the back. Even the regular iPhone 11 has a wide angle. Shame Google skipped it this year.

And as amazing as the regular camera is, Pixels still do video terribly.

Sort of agree with the first part. Would certainly be nice to have a wide angle camera. Though I suspect this is somewhat dependent on the user. I don't often find myself needing a wider angle, but more frequently find myself wishing I had more zoom. Other folks have different use cases so they may prefer the wide angle. Of course the best solution is 3 cameras , as others have, and then everyone is covered.

"Terribly" is a bit much to describe Pixel video I think, but it certainly is worse than other flagships.

At least we'll have 90Hz display, assuming that turns out to be accurate. It's the only thing that would make this a day-one purchase for me.

This line form Apple sums it up:

Another hour of battery life would be great. Here’s five.

This is exactly what people will care about.

The Pixel 4 and 4 XL better do bettah!

If the overall idea is to load the Pixel line with high end specs in order to slap a sticker price rivaling Samsung and the iPhone, AND still have the Pixel A series leaving that price point alone, I think it may be a good idea.

However, being a Pixel 1 and a Pixel 3 owner, I have been quite pleased with what I have experienced with my phone.

Wanting the Pixel 4 XL to have better battery life does not mean they all have to be the same.

I'm not sure what you mean. I didn't mention anything specific. Feature sets and specs will be assorted for different phones, and a user either gets with that or they don't. No need to make then all the same way ...

Who is saying they have to be alike?
