Opening two emails at once

Is there any way to coax the photon to have two emails open, so I can flip back and forth between them? Or an email and the pdf attached to a different email?

Maybe I should post this in one of the "coming from webos support" threads?

Thanks.

I take it that you are in one email account and you want two emails from the same account to be opened at the same time?

You can have an email from say a yahoo or exchange email account open at the same time as you have a gmail account email open. Thus is the case because non-gmail accounts arebin the "email" app while gmail is opened using the Gmail app. I have yet to see multiple emails from the same account being opened in different "windows" simultaneously. To my knowledge, that is not an option with android phones.

The photon definitely gives you better multitasking capabilities then any other android device I have used.

If you open the email with a PDF file attached, then open the PDF file in quick office or docs to go ... then hold down the home key, select the email app you want to access. Once back in the email app, open the other email you want to view and then switch back and forth from the PDF file to the other email.

Remember, to switch apparently while in a current app hold down the home key. You can switch from recent apps or hit the top left arrow to choose from all apps, recent apps, etc.

Yep, you can. Use Dolphin HD browser, make sure you setup Dolphin HD. Go to your HTML email account inbox. Open the emails in a tab. Works on my MoPho with Yahoo and gmail....

I tried this. it helpfully closed the other page every time.

After closing everything else and trying again, I asked thee question here.

I suspect that of I saved the pdf to the sd card I could open that and and email, but out wouldn't work for two emails.

Hmmm, I hadn't thought to use the web interface of my email accounts. I usually pop it to the gadget and read it natively, in k9, but if I had a good internet connection that might work. I can switch among browser pages relatively efficiently

The web interface is the only option to open up two emails from the same email account.

Although I'd like to point out that the example of checking yahoo and gmail emails in the web browser is just the same as using the "email app" to check yahoo email and then holding the home key down, once the recent apps dialogue comes up then navigate to the gmail app and select it. Once both yahoo and gmail are opened, then you can seemlessly go back and forth. I do that all the time with two different email accounts using native apps.

I'm guessing you want to open two emails from the same account, which is not do able unless k9 has the option to open emails in "new windows". Therefore, you will need to use the browser for opening two emails from the same account. In fact you can have multiple tabs using the stock browser but I do prefer the dolphin HD browser. Another thing to think about is if you are using corporate email then you might not have a mobile web interface hence that is why you are using k9.

Thanks. I am using k9 because it is better in many ways than the web interfaces of my email accounts. So your response is disappointing. It's probably easier to find a scrap of paper to jot down info I want to copy than it is to fuss with multiple browser copies of the on-line email accounts.

Sigh, I miss the multitasking of the Pre.
