optimus s roaming after updating to a custom rom

After installing "Unofficial CM7 Gingerbread" custom rom on my rooted Optimus S, which runs the VD with Xionia recovery, my phone seems to be constantly in roaming status. I tried different roms, reverting back to my nandroid back up, and updating PRL after installing custom roms it always shows roaming triangle next to the bars i dont even get 1x

-i did look around and could not find a straight answer so im posting this, also i read about updating phone's radio (MR2.x.x.x.x release) but i couldn't get hboot to install on my pc or even get into my phone's bootloader.

i really really liked the unofficial CM7 gingerbread rom so if anyone has any advise to get past this i would really appreciated.

If theres a similar post or a topic please link me and close the thread, i been trying to fix my phone for about 3 days so please be patient with my question

well people in my house are getting 2-3 bars so it can't be sprint, and i called them, they been saying service looks fine in my area. By the way has anyone tried updating their radios or did anyone else have the same problem as i did. I can't seem to find a solution to mine

Problem with this Ath3nos CM7 is for some reason it changes the PRL, which really Pee'ed me off!!! I had Prl 1115 and after installing this it is now 60680! And i now can not get back to my Prl of 1115! I know it was not a update because i check my wifes phone and her phone is still 01115. (noticed the zero in front of her Prl). I wish i could get mine back! but unfortunatly this is the risk we take when we play around with our phones! Another reason why i went back to Reborn! If that is not a glitch I dont know what is?

yea mods can move this thread to the modded section i meant to open my thread there, thanks everyone for your input i just took it back to sprint and the rep just did a hard reset or some kind of other reset she tried factory reset which didnt do anything, so after couple of hard reset my phone picked up 3g again. If someone knows how to update the radios through hboot or any other method please feel free to post your answers maybe it can help others like me
