Ok, to start with i have got my phone rooted by following these inst. using this video YouTube - How to root LG optimus V . However when i try to install a recovery image to back up the nand using adb shell from the inst. on this site Custom Recovery Optimus V - Android Forums i keep getting an message showing usage of the mount -o commands, i have the flash_image file and the GNM image but i cannot do anything. Thanks in advance. Win7

Sounds like you are inputting a typo. Please show us the exact command you are entering, and the exact message you get back.

These things are VERY specific, your questions should be as well.

C:\androidsdk\platform-tools>adb shell
$ mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock5 /system
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock5 /system
mount: Operation not permitted

with mtdblock5 with a space before a front slash

without space on mtdblock5 =

$ mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock5/system
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock5/system
Usage: mount [-r] [-w] [-o options] [-t type] device directory.

USB Debugging on.

Copied directly from website.

I have infact verified root and busy box access with rootcheck with granted superuser permissions.

My question is, how can i fix the errors above so I can make a NAND backup and flash to cyanogenmod 7. And have a NAND backup for removing crapware.
