Optimus V with cyanogen7 - black screen - help please T.T

Howdy gang, this is my first actual post on the forums! Unfortunately I'm in a bit of a pickle though.
Whenever I make or receive calls on my lg optimus v the screen goes black and won't come back on for 15 minutes or so. Unless I plug in the charger. Could this be a problem related to the fact that I am using cyanogen mod 7? It never happened before I installed the custom rom.

you using aospCmod? it's really old, and unsupported. I'm not aware of another rom with that problem anymore.
somewhere in settings is an option to turn on or off the proximity sensor, toggle it.

or better yet, upgrade to an inferiorhumanorgans ROM, they're up to android 2.3.7, cyanogenmod 7.2 (I think, don't hold me to it!) and way better than the old aospCmod rom.

Do you have always use proximity checked?

go in phone settings and fiddle with the proximity sensor settings
