Option to remove photo location tag is gone

Used to be I would get an option to remove location information from a photo before sharing. I recently reset the camera settings and no longer have this option for new photos I've taken since. The setting to tag photos with location is on so what am I missing?

Do you have the option for older photos? Are you sharing from the 'native' Share option from the Gallery or from the camera? I still see that option (but it's on a Flip3)

Yes, I still have the option on older photos, just not the ones I've taken since resetting camera settings. I'm sharing from the gallery.

Hi, in the camera app settings is the location tag toggle on ?

Yes, it is toggled on. I've tried toggling it off and back on as well.

If you open a picture in gallery then 3 dots at the bottom >choose details>can choose the + for location , and also location toggle on in your pull down notification panel and does the gallery have permission for location to see that long press gallery >tap info>permission and see if location on ?

Thanks Mustang. I figured out the culprit. Camera was set to take pictures in HEIF format. I disabled that and can see the option to remove location when sharing.
To answer your question, the HEIF images also had location information associated with them so not sure why the option to remove location when sharing was not available.

Never messed with those formats so wouldn't know .

That format is still not 'universally' supported, so probably the OS isn't coded to recognize those as taggeable images (ergo, not showing an option to remove the location tag). Same thing with videos; if you record on high-end formats, some of the standard options 'disappear' because the system can't apply them.
