I get two options to answer a call
1. Slide up to answer... slide down to decline
2. Separate boxes.... answer..... decline
My problem and question I'd that the options switch between phone calls and i really only want option 1
Any one with some info on this for me?

Isn't that managed by if the screen is locked or not? I have the slider if the screen is locked, and the buttons if it's unlocked.

You are correct but I have been noticing the accept decline buttons even when phone is locked and the call is being missed or Hung up on while trying to get it out of my pocket.

I have noticed this just taking the phone out of my pocket. I assume that i hit the power button and then somehow swipe down with my finger while taking the phone out of my pocket. This is probally whats happening to you, the phone powers on because of the call and then unlocks via a slight downward swipe while getting the thing out of your pocket.

luckly i havent hung up on anyone important as of yet :)

Well at least its not just me....this is missing me off cause I do hang up on calls all the time.

I keep mine in a case clipped on my pocket. When I get a call the screen wakes up says I have to drag finger down screen to answer and thats it , I am connected to my call then :) its in the default settings on that still I think

OK I think I figured this out... There is another way to unlock the screen. If you hit the Power button and hit the Menu button the screen will also unlock w/o having to swipe.

Could be?

I think that may be what I'm doing as I pull the phone from my pocket..... I will just have to keep my mind on this problem as I get a phone call

Re: Options for answering a call??

Hi guys. Follow up question. I don't mean to hijack the thread...

Have any of you had trouble actually answering a call when the device is locked?

I have to tap *very* firmly on the screen and hold a second then swipe down to answer a call. I wish the answer button would appear too.

I have a screen protector and it works just fine for other operations, so I don't think that's it. This is really the only thing I don't like about this phone. Drives me up a wall.

Any info is appreciated.

This problem of accidentally dumping calls that you wanted to answer seems to be on-going - the first post regarding this was in 2010, and I am suffering from it now.

I sometimes wear jeans - which tend to have pockets which can be a bit tight. I hear an in-coming call and attempt to take my phone out of my pocket. All sorts of buttons are pushed and slid in a random order as I take the phone out of my pocket - so that by the time I can see the screen, the phone has made several decisions on my behalf - and NEVER the ones that I intended, and often resulting in the call being dumped. This is OK if you can see the caller's number (just phone them back - but now YOU are paying for the call!), but not everybody or company chooses to reveal their number, so you may have missed the chance.

What I would like to do is to set the method of answering the call - i.e. press the buttons on the side of the phone, or enter a number or two, or some method such that the act of taking my phone out of my pocket could NOT accidentally trigger a DUMP THE CALL response. I would like to set the answering method EXCLUSIVELY to answer ONLY when I perform the "answer" action, and to continue ringing until either I answered the call or the caller hung up.

I am sure that some method must now exist to achieve this. Please save my sanity and let me in on how to do it.

RT.
