Ordered new Xperia Z1S through T-Mobile

I have tried everything. I am like 3 feet from my router and have all security disabled just to try to fix it. I dont have any issues with any other wireless devices. In fact, I had a htc one s from t mobile and the wifi calling worked fine with the exact same setup.

Also, I can receive calls just fine. It is really weird.

Yeah this is a big deal for me as well as my office is in a poor network zone. My WiFi works great for the myriad of other devices. I will double check router settings, but I'm getting great speeds and low ping.

yeah my z1s just instantly ends the call as soon as I dial it. No idea why this is happening, but idk what to do. I have 2 of these phones and they both are doing it. I have turned every security feature on my router off completely. I have even disabled the firewall. there is nothing blocking it what so ever. It is on channel 11.

Same behavior here--I'm using an Asus AC-68R router. For grins I used my iPad to create a hotspot and was able to get one call through to 611, but then every call after failed just like all the others. I also updated my router firmware, but no go.

WiFi calling is working perfect on my old Netgear router, if I remember correctly you have to enable WiFi calling through the website or call it in and have them activate it I forget. That was with the old contract plans, things probably changed since then.

yeah I just switched to the new plan today and it already had wifi calling selected, so it is enabled in my account.

I actually got it to work on one of the two z1s that I purchased. However, mine still does not work. I can still receive calls and text messages with wifi calling enabled, but I cannot make a call. I have tried everything. I even called t mobile, so the best thing to do is return your phone and get another one.

New phones can take up to 24 hours for wifi calling to be full provisioned, especially if you port in from another carrier.

It'll show it is working but will take a little bit to get registered and actually start working.

Mine worked out of the box...but voice quality and reliability is heavily dependent on the router. I have a FIOS gigE router with monster bandwidth... But voice sounds thin to others, and I get occasional call drops. Works amazingly in starbucks though.

considering, it's water proof speaker, I think it sounds great, and with headphone plug-in, it sounds good to me (actually posted this on wrong post xD)

Yeah I'd thought about trying it at a starbucks as well. I have plenty of bandwidth on this end as well.

One of the two phones I bought works no problem, but the one I am using does not work. It is defective, so I am taking it back. I can only receive calls and text when wifi calling is enabled. It is not my router. I had 2 cell phone with wifi calling before we got the z1s and had no trouble. It is only mine having the trouble, so it must be the phone. I have also tried using it in other wifi area's.

I took the z1s to the t mobile store and they switched phone and sim cards and it still had the same problem. It could receive phone calls and text messages, but not send while using wifi calling. They could not figure it out, so they said that they would wave the restocking fee and let me choose a different phone. I liked this phone so much that I decided to give it a few more days to see if I could fix it.

Well, I did fix it. You should not be having wifi calling problems with this phone and if you do, this is why. Me and my girlfriend purchased these two z1s at the same time, so when the girl at the register scanned the box of my phone, she got them mixed up. She scanned my girlfriends phone as my phone and my phone as hers. So the phone number was not matching the phone scanned to the account. It was backwards. Even when I tried a new phone at t mobile, it was still in reverse, because they were still scanning that phone in under her number instead of the number on my sim card.

So, me and my girlfriend just switched phones. I stuck my sim card in her phone and her sim card in my phone. Everything works great for both phones now.

This will be an awesome reference for other people! Glad you got it working! And best of all, you didn't have to give up this awesome phone.

They should have thrown in a free charger or something for that stupid mistake. I try to avoid the stores if possible they usually know very little about anything. Glad you got it fixed! They tried to sell me on gps location finder "find my phone" sw when google has it for free! As new as I am to android I knew better than to fall for their little tricks. I also requested not to have 2.5gigs of data and put me on the 500mb along with no php. Guess what they stuck it in the plan, when I got home I went to the site to undo the damage they created typical tmob...

yeah they were trying hard to push the 2.5g data on me too. I rarely ever use more than 200 to 300 mb of data cause I use wifi so much. It is obviously when you look at my usage history, but they were trying hard to talk me into it.

You all are lucky to get your z1s. I am still waiting for the damn jump program to be fixed then I get mine...been 7 days since I have been eligible but their jump button is broken.

Yup just about anywhere here in LA there is always a WiFi signal. TWC in my area has them everywhere on the streets all the way to the beach. Came down with a cold today so I stayed inside, perfect excuse to get to know my android phone been using it all day since 5am. Batt is down to 28% compared to my lumia 810 it would have drained the batt by noonish. Got it down to 30 last night but will try to cycle it down to 10% tonight.

So far this is the best phone I have ever owned and the batt life is just insane, fully featured phone and has not locked up or rebooted since the day I bought it. Best part is backing up to the PC and also off loading contacts to the sim can't do either of it on WP. Tempted to test this in one of my pool accounts and take some underwater shots and some video to boot!:)
