Oreo 8.1 pants

Since the 8.1 update it takes a bout 3 swipes to answer a call - if the caller hasn't hung up by then. Takes ages to close a call. Calls drop randomly. I have no screen protector (saw other comments regarding this - which seemed bizarre to me) and the phone does detect my swipe , the button moves up then waits and goes back to answer. Also screen sensitivity works fine on apps etc... Typing fine here !
